But Karla Faye wanted to live! And is that so odd for someone who has found new life? Not really, not for a new Christian. But Karla Faye deserved her fate.
If she received some comfort on her way to the chamber, that must be enough. Claiming Christ at the end can not be used to escape justice. Or else, every murderous psychopath would claim a love of Christ to escape the first death.
The death penalty first and foremost is a deterrent.
Yeah- the people that worked around said she was a true conversion. I wasn’t there- not mine to judge.
I’m sure she wanted to live- don’t we all? Philippians 1:21 King James Version (KJV) 21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
See you here, there, or in the air!
Disagree. First and foremost, the death penalty is -- first and foremost -- the most appropriate possible punishment that society can impose. It's a matter of symmetry: If one takes a life, one's life is then forfeit.
If this also serves a deterrent purpose, then well and good.
