Perhaps we could find another criteria to consider; like, if your family was 'fleeing communism' rather than intending to 'bring it' here.

-"Dang man he was naturalized just like his parents. It has been reported a thousand times."

You appeared convinced of this. What source(s) can you link to prove this?

And you are wrong about kim, they granted him citizenship on color of claim. His parents had applied to come her and had been approved to become citizens, all they liked was finishing the paper work, they decided to return to china. So his request for naturalization was granted.

The greatest service Marco could perform for his country would be to announce: “Although I have been asked to consider running for the Presidency of the United States, I must notify the electorate that, because I was not born of two American citizens, I am not Constitutionally eligible for the office of President.”

So far, Rubio has not seen fit to do this—either because his parents WERE both citizens at the time of his birth, or because he does not have the imagination or courage.

The reason I call this a “service” is that, were Rubio to make this announcement BEFORE the election of 2012, everyone would be able to reach the logical conclusion regarding Soetoro’s eligibility, since it is an unquestioned fact that Obama’s father was a foreigner.

I don’t think Rubio is ready now, but he is presidential material in the making. He understands and explains the greatness of America and the greatness of free enterprise and self responsibility better than just about anyone on the political scene today. He has a way of communicating these truths that is the stuff leaders are made of.

With some seasoning, he just might be President. This is the basis upond with Rush made that prediction (and upon which I agree).

He is a natural born citizen if both parents were citizens at the time of his birth; otherwise he is a native born citizen.

Please cite where that definition of natural born citizen is in the Constitution.

Wrong, the courts sent the children of coolies back to china.

Until the Supreme Court said that children of Chinese non citizens born on US soil were US citizens at birth.

"Rubio is eligible, they can cut that crap out."

Considering who is in the Oval Office right now - don't think that will be a problem.

Or because he realizes your definition is wrong, and since he was born in the US, he is in fact a natural born citizen.

I think Rubio is very promising with good values. If he continues the same way, I'd like to see him run eventually for president.

Most likely it's because he's not buying into this birther b.s.

In reality he is not eligible by the standards set by the founders but neither is Obama so it probably won’t matter.

Read the decision.
namely, whether a child born in the United States, of parent of Chinese descent, who, at the time of his birth, are subjects of the Emperor of China, but have a permanent domicil and residence in the United States, and are there carrying on business, and are not employed in any diplomatic or official capacity under the Emperor of China, becomes at the time of his birth a citizen of the United States. For the reasons above stated, this court is of opinion that the question must be answered in the affirmative.[emphasis added]

I also firmly believe that to be eligible to be president, one simply needs to be born on American soil.

But go to Wikipedia under “natural born citizen” and you see:

“There is general agreement that the term encompasses, as a minimum, anyone born on U.S. soil to U.S. citizen parents.”

“general agreement” my arse! I tried to edit it to leave out the words “ ...to U.S. citizen parents” but it got rejected.

I think the key is “at a minimum” meaning that it is the strictist definition (embraced by some here as it is Vattel’s). However, in this country James Madison said that “place is the more certain” criterion, and the Supreme Court holds that we follow jus soli, as seen in multiple cases.

This has nothing to do with Marco Rubio, but do you know that many pregnant women from Red China take a "vacation" in the United States so that their children can claim to be American citizens?

I guess in a few years these commie kids can run for U.S. President.

Call me any name you want, but he's still ineligible. Read Minor v. Happersett. Read John Bingham.

Rubio is ineligible. As is Obama, but who cares about the Constitution or that the Messiah's birth certificate is phony.
