Were only hearing vague details about whats in Obamas rumored $300 billion stimulus plan, but there are already plenty of reasons to doubt it will get past Republicans in Congress.
Its hard to imagine GOP lawmakers passing a watered-down carbon copy of the reviled 2009 stimulus, after the conservative movement spent so much energy criticizing the last one. Even if Republicans in Congress wanted to support it which is doubtful the conservative movement wouldnt let them get away with it.
[...]
So its not a surprise that plan is already being dismissed as dead on arrival, according to Politicos Ben White:
One GOP aide said chances were less than zero that Obama would get anything through that was not entirely paid for with immediate spending cuts (not the promise of them in the future).
And the aide said there was no chance of passing big infrastructure project spending. We tried that once. Shovel-ready turned out not to be shovel-ready. Its not happening again. A different aide said that everything is political at this point. Everything is positioning for 2012. Everything.

I still think Obama will be a no show tomorrow.
So what. Herr Leader will instruct helicopter Ben to print another trillion and toss it out. Same thing.
Republicans haven’t figured out that Obama will do anything he wants without legislative approval? Rule by executive order. We have an illegal government, figure it out Republicans.
I pray he sends the TOTUS with just two words =
I RESIGN!
FUBO GTFO ! 500 Days until Noon Jan 20, 2013 - Hell Yes, change is coming!
Don’t you think that O’dipstick already knows he won’t get a stimulus through?
It’s a plan to blame Republicans for not helping with unemployment
Why ask for $300 billion?
He had asked for $700 billion, what? Twice?
Why not double down and ask for $1.5 trillion? Get some real spending going.
He’s asking for 1/2 of what he got before?
Guy’s a punk for a salesman.
The liberal pundits want him to go BIG. I'm thinking over 9000 trillion!
>> I’m thinking over 9000 trillion!
Yeah, why the hell not.
Even Barky’s three hundred billion is about one thousand dollars for every man, woman and child in the US. Why not just have Ben print the money and send each of us a check? Why launder it through the federal government’s diverticulitis-ridden gut first? There’ll be nothing left after Holder’s People in the administration siphon it all off.
Your 9000 trillion would be, like, thirty million apiece. Hey, hand me thirty million and I’ll show you STIMULUS like you’ve never SEEN before! Of course I’ll be standing in line at that zagat-rated restaurant every night with every other unwashed rube in the city...
We really have to get a grip on this “it’s only a number” nonsense (which of course is your real point).
This might be a good time to pass the ‘’fairtax’’ or it may be too late for it. Not a rehashed value added tax but the fair tax. The way I understand it, an item that costs 1 dollar now would fall to say 75 cents, and the fair tax of say 23 percent would bring the cost back up to 1 dollar. This coupled with the elimination of the IRS and S.S. tax would yield the gov’t just as much revenue as the current system. Where my question comes in is what would happen where wages are set by union contracts. Wages will be affected sooner or later.

Of course it is. Blaming someone else for his royal screwups is all he's got left.
SPINE pubbies, SPINE!
Democrats have been putting out word the stimulus will be paid for with a deficit reduction plan of equal size. But keep in mind, more than half of the $300 billion would be spent during the next year (in the form of a year-long payroll tax cut extension). Does anyone expect Obama to propose $150 billion+ in deficit reductions during the next year to make up for it? More likely, the deficit-reduction plan will be spread out over a 10-year period, leaving open the possibility many of the cuts will never actually take place. Please allow me to rephrase that: leaving open the guarantee that the cuts will never actually take place.
Let's get real.
As a salesman, he's savvy enough to know that he can only sell to
punks, and the punks in the LSM are already in his pocket.
He can be caught in bed with both a live boy and a dead hooker, and
the media morons would do practically everything to cover for him.
It’s a lame game.
All anyone has to do is laughingly, mockingly say $300 Billion?
$300 Billion more?
I guess he meant he was out of shovels to pass around when he mockingly said “I didn’t mean they would all be shovel ready jobs?”
There are real people in real pain, Mr. Funny Man and you think your self serving humor is a salve to soothe their wounds?
"There's a real problem with obstructionists in Congress, blocking my campaign to destroy the US, and I'm frustrated about it."

The way I understand it, an item that costs 1 dollar now would fall to say 75 cents, and the fair tax of say 23 percent would bring the cost back up to 1 dollar.
Really? How do you plan to talk China in discounting their junk 25%?
If you actually believe what you wrote, you must have a closet full of snake oil, a filing cabinet filled with Arizona beach front property deeds, and a shared bank account with a Nigerian state official who happened to have come across $32M and needs your help to expatriate it.
“Blaming someone else for his royal screwups is all he’s got left.”
Don’t forget the race card.
Obama is asking for a lower number just to appear reasonable. He is counting on this nonsense to be rejected by the GOP so as to kick start his campaign strategy.
This speech in front of a joint session of congress is nothing but political theater and even the dumbest of Americans is going to see through it.
Here is his game plan. He goes in front of Congress and America and demands his 300 Billion. Republican-controlled Congress says NO. Obama goes on the campaign trail, and with the help of State-run media, convinces voters that Repubs are the reason there are no jobs. Media gives him 100 percent support and Hussein Obama slides in for s 2nd term.
