In 2003 and again in 2007 we had terrible fires in San Diego County. In both cases the Navy and Marine Corps offered their helicopters to help immediately. They were turned down by California Department of Forests (CDF). People died as a result of the slow response by CDF. Here we go again.

This is an area where those upcoming stimulus dollars could actually have a positive effect. The firefighting fleet is really old and difficult to maintain. A new medium capacity purpose-built firefighting aircraft would not only employ a lot of people, but a contract that gave the government part of the proceeds from sales to other countries would help recoup the cost.

This administration just loves to create chaos. Also a number of people in the forestry service are not exactly for preserving the environment as there are a lot of leftist dug deep inside. Also remember how congress has inhibited the pruning of our forests in order to keep the fire damage down, unless you live in one senators state who had an exception to the bill. I also would not be surprised if this was also labor related as others suggested but I doubt it is limited to only that. We are dealing with people who have come to hate civilization and just about everything else including the environment.

The forest service showed up and said they were taking charge, sent home a lot of fire fighter volunteers (volunteer fire fighters are usual to help out in big fires) then cancel these planes. What is going on with Obama? Deliberate? Sounds like it. Perry has been butting heads with Obama for some time. He asked for a disaster declaration from Obama, but it hasn't happened. Deliberate? I would say so.

I wonder what would happen if TX Governor Perry contracted with Aero Union ? So long as the aircraft have a current AWC/inspection and the pilots meet FAA currency and type certs I don’t think there FA the “One” can do so long as their ops are confined to state and private lands. >PS
