The question is, WHY is Gov. Palin waiting “till some time in September?” Nobody seems to be able to supply a good reason for that. (”Not decided yet” is a very poor reason.) But good reasons to wait, if she’s already decided not to run, they’re easy.
So, if she’s decided to run... WHY delay.

Another good question is why does she need to announce now? And who’s timetable are you jumping to? The MSM? If you don’t need to be over the target longer than you need to complete your run, don’t circle. The meat of this campaign is still a long way away.
I hardly think Perry would have gotten the questioning attention he (and the voters) so richly deserve had Governor Palin already been in the race. I think most of the whining is coming from people who really don’t want their candidate to receive the requisite “exam”.
Because she doesn't want to blow through a lot of money like Bachmann did when she doesn't have to. She also doesn't want to trigger the cumbersome and legally dangerous FEC laws that go into effect as soon as she declares.
Is that simple enough for you?
Because as soon as she announces, she in for the Sh*t storm of all storms.
If she waits to see when the Caucuses and first primaries are really scheduled, then wait for her to try to sprint to the end so that “they” don’t have the opportunity to drive her into the ground.
That is the only reason why I would think she could wait.
The whole garbage about Reagan waiting does not hold water now. The calendar is very different this time around.
Let's work under the supposition that she is indeed planning on running. (If she's not, none of her moves make sense to me -- the idea that she's just building "Brand Palin" doesn't wash, because building up all the expectations and dashing them would basically destroy the "brand".)
I'll further make an assumption that she has a very specific plan that address all fo the concerns raised about infrastructure, funding, organization, etc., as well as all of the political plans needed for a campaign. She comes across as someone who knows how to do this, and if she hasn't, then... well, it will be a short and rather unsuccessful venture.
So... what is the plan? I don't know, and no one outside Palin's innermost circle does either.
We can guess, of course, but that's all it would be, a guess.
There are some logical reasons to delay, of course, such as freedom from FEC regulations. Personally, I think she wants to make the campaign as short and intense as possible, rather than dragging it out over those summer months when no one is really watching anyway. Several folks have theorized that she wants the rest of the field to get a solid vetting before she dominates the spotlight.
All reasonable guesses... which, if any, are right? We will only know after it all happens.
See above. She may be waiting to see. Maybe Perry will emerge as a great candidate. His blossom of support the last few weeks is mostly of the ephemeral "new face" variety. Does he have staying power? Does he have election-killing junk in his closet? I'm in Colorado, where we lost the governorship last November in what should have been a cakewalk solely because we had unvetted candidates in our primary.
The spotlight needs to be on Perry. Can he take the heat? I don't want to find out in April that he's a loser and has plagiarism issues and secret bimbos and a fabricated resume. If Sarah stays out, the vetting process will be more serious.

Exactly. Which is why many of us think she wont be a candidate (a good decision IMHO) but is being coy as a way of maintaining her public profile and media attention.
