Lake County Schools Superintendent Susan Moxley said that Jerry Buell "clearly crosses the line" with his religious classroom communication.

In a directive released Tuesday, Moxley said Buell's religious language on a class syllabus and school Web page raised "serious concerns."

Buell, a social-studies teacher, was allowed to return to his Mount Dora classroom after a weeklong investigation into anti-gay Facebook posts, but the controversy surrounding his religious classroom language is still triggering concern.

The public schools cannot be all things to all people. It is time to scrap our current system and start from scratch.

America achieved much more when kids were taught directly from the Bible, which is what the 1st public schools did.

It is fine and even encouraged for schools to promote homosexuality, but those who oppose it are treated as criminals. I would love nothing more than to see the Dept. of Education eliminated.

I assume that if that syllabus mentioned “Allah’s truth”, there wouldn’t have been a problem.

A teacher in a classroom is incapable of violating the 1st Amendment proscription against the State “ESTABLISHING A RELIGION”!!!

BUT, the school district is capable of violating the teacher’s right to “THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF”!!!

Oh yeah and the original reason the school board gave for reinstating him was they feared the KKK would protest.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

In the mid-1800s, our socialist-funded government schools taught a generic and lukewarm Protestantism that could be accepted by the majority of voter without gagging. We know what Christ does with the lukewarm. He spits them out of His mouth!

My grandmother ( born 1894) and father ( born 1913) attended government schools that were godless with a nod to God in the prayer and scripture verse in the morning.

By the mid-1960s government schools were utterly godless.

Axiom: It is impossible for any education to be religiously, culturally, or politically neutral.

Conclusion: NO government school is politically, culturally, or religiously neutral, therefore, they should be abolished

What happened to ‘universal knowledge’? Big Brother Govt. Pravda has become quite the censor. Only the information and historical facts they deem safe for their agenda gets a pass. Bible knowledge threatens their evil agenda.
Progressive my arse.

I say mox nix to Susies directive. My daddy taught us that strict neutralism is the most sincere form of discrimination.
It discriminates against the individual conscience and person.
IT is unconstitutional and contrary to the establishment of education in America.Too bad Susie Moxley thinks she serves the Little RED School House of the Soviet Communist brand of atheism. “separation of church and State is not seen in the terms used in any copy of the written Constitution I have . Susie needs an education.
