OK, now I’ve got it! It’s not that you have it in for Perry. This fact is very obvious from your posts. YOU don’t like Texas or Texans!

What's obvious is that some supporters of some politicians are irrational in their support.

And where are all the folks now who said that Perry would not attend the debate because he cared so much for the people of Texas and that was his first responsibility?

Don't ever go too far out on a limb for a politician. Figure out from this little episode what might happen.

Now do you get it?

Looks like the Feds and their firefighters have relieved Perry of his concerns, so, he is free to attend now.

My point is that a room with a view sometimes comes with a price. Anyone who builds in a windy canyon full of tender better know the risks. Same for someone who builds along the Gulf Coast, the Pacific Coast (mudslides), and the Boudreauxs around here who like to live in a house on stilts in the flood plain of a river, which is pretty safe around here right now. Much of what is burning in East Texas is not brush. The fire in Cass County has burned a 30,000 acre pine plantation worth from $60-$100,000,000 to someone. I saw on TV a local man of low means point to a stand of burnt timber beside his burnt house and said that the timber was his children’s college fund. I suppose the house was insured. Basically, fire sucks no matter where you are.

My thought exactly. Wish these folks would hold off comment until they make a firm decision of what they’re doing. Otherwise, they risk coming off as wishy-washy.

OMG! What if he was President, and fires broke out in both Michigan AND Idaho at the same time? Where would Perry go? What would Perry do? Obviously, this guy can’t delegate.

yesterday F&F had him on and they kept asking him his opinions on political stuff (hoffa etc) and he basically told them not now.... I’m dealing with the fires right now... personally I think it was a smart move.... keeping his priorities straight.

Well, hell. Why not just 'phone it in' every day he's in office, if that's all it takes to be a Governor. If he wins the election, he won't even have to move to DC. He can just 'phone it in'. *rolls eyes*

Yep. Businessmen, politicians and citizens routinely travel all the time and use cell phones, smartphones and other means to stay in touch. Welcome to the 20th century. Perry will be at the debate.
