Perry ping
This is great tool to keep track of all current and future FLIP-FLOPS.
Does he explain why he supported Hillarycare and now why Obamacare is different?
I’d like to believe, but Hillarycare wasn’t all that long ago and that’s no minor thing.
But WAIT! t/rick perry’s spokes...person says that perry’s book is not, I repeat, NOT a presidential or campaign “guide book.” In other words, that was then and this is now so do we take him at his word then, or do we call him the liar he obviously is NOW? Hmmm?
He never supported Hillarycare — more lies.
My lying eyes...
I suppose he wasn't a Democrat then either...
Somebodies lying. Is it you?
The article is lying — misleading to the point of lying.
“I think your efforts in trying to reform the nation’s health care system are most commendable.”
This is NOT an endorsement of Hillary care — Perry wrote her a letter and commended the effort, NOT the implementation. He wrote the letter to raise awareness of the need of rural population.
That was my interpretation of it. I can't stand the guy, and he's probably my last choice for nominee, but mischaracterizing his letter is dishonest.
Hillary’s effort was blatantly to nationalize healthcare.
Commending the effort and trying to make sure she included rural populations speaks for itself.
First he cries that the federal government doesn’t do enough (The Federal Government Fiddles: Ignoring National Security, Immigration, and the Enumerated Powers) and then he cries that the federal government should not be in our lives as much. Wish he would make up his mind. He blames everyone else (Obama) like President Obama blames Bush. He did NOTHING to the huge border for 10 YEARS. He is gutsy I tell you to cry about how the Pres does not do his job. Thank God Jan Brewer is a strong governor....would hate to have two like him.
Who done wroted that?
Is that what you're claiming?
That's laughable.
We all knew what Hillary was up to as soon as she started. In addition there were numerous stories on what she was up to at the time.
And if he didn't know what she was doing what the hell is he doing sending her a letter praising her efforts.
Are you really that naive?
Now if he had come out and said he was wrong and that he was simply supporting his party at the time that would have been better. But to pretend it didn't happen is simply dishonest.
Nice spin.
But here’s what he said:
I think your efforts in trying to reform the nations health care system are most commendable. I would like to request that the task force give particular consideration to the needs of the nations farmers, ranchers, and agriculture workers, and other members of rural communities,
You mean he urged her to give special attention in including rural populations in her plan. Plans that weren’t exactly unknown at the time.
No, I think he was just being a politician, using Hillary’s health care initiative to help his standing with farmers, and maybe butter up the First Lady while he was at it. That’s all, just politics, same as today.
Then he should have said so.
Instead he claims ignorance.
We spend around $75-100 million Texas tax funds a year on border control, depending on how you count State vs. County. We use Texas Rangers, other DPS, and now have 15 helicopters flying recon and interception along the border.
He specifically says the Federal Government should do its Constitutional job - those Enumerated Powers - with as little interference in our daily lives as possible.
What part of this is unclear to you?
It's a conscientious state elected official diplomatically writing to Hillary asking her to consider the needs of and impact upon his constituents, farmers, ranchers and rural communities, as she develops a healthcare reform plan through her task force.
It was written 43 days after Clinton was sworn in, 6 months before Hillary testified before congress and 8 months before a health care bill was introduced.
