It’s not even a seamless cut:
It’s an obvious edit showing the two relevant sections of a (most likely) drunken, rambling three-minute speech. Networks edit. Always have, always will. The cut didn’t alter the meaning of Junior’s words one iota.
Like I said... I did not notice the cut in the editing the FIRST time I watched the FOX clip. I honestly thought they only switched cameras because his head was chopped out of the other shot. I was paying more attention to the threat made against me and my family — not the editing of the video...
When I watched the ABC video I was truly confused. I was also not aware that this was “after the fact” coverage that I was watching the first time I saw the clip from FOX news. I honestly thought it was a replay of a live recording, IOW not an edited piece. It ticked me off because I didn’t hear ANYTHING about ballot boxes, jobs, etc... only to be confronted with a charge of “lying” about what was said by a liberal “friend” whom I was arguing with at the time. I know news channels edit all the time, I just was not aware that what I was passing along was an edit.
I disagree that the cut doesn’t alter the meaning of his words one bit, but it’s not by much, and not enough to “let it go” by any means. I’m not about to start defending the SOB, and I know that there are others within his organization who are quite comfortable ignoring the “voting” part. As everyone has pointed out the hypocrisy is unbelievable.
Anyway, next time I will have to be sure I watch SEVERAL clips to make sure I’m not missing something. I hate to be made to look like a fool, and my mistake took the legs right out from under me in my “debate”...
