On the heels of our report that Michele Bachmann campaign manager Ed Rollins is stepping back into an advisory role, citing health concerns, comes word that his deputy, David Polyansky, is leaving the campaign.
"I wish Michele nothing but the best, and anyone who underestimates her as a candidate does so at their own peril," Polyansky told POLITICO. Continue Reading
But a GOP source familiar with the situation said that Polyansky had "strategic differences on the path forward" with the candidate, who has struggled to gain traction in the last few weeks.
Polyansky and Rollins led the team that brought Bachmann to her Ames Straw Poll win in Iowa, along with a handful of others like veteran pollster Ed Goeas. It wasn't immediately clear who was taking over the top two day-to-day slots.
This doesn’t look good for Bachmann. Then again it is Polutico who is peddling this, so I will have to wait and see if it is even true.
Bachmann lost all credibility with me when she hired Ed Rollins, a Conservative hating and venomous piece of trash.
I think Bachmann was doing okay as the anti-Romney till Perry joined the race. Seems like a lot of people believe he is more electable than her and have moved over to the Perry camp.
Still early yet and Bachmann is a great campaigner who is right on almost all the issues, but Republicans want a winner this time around and it seems like many/most believe Perry is the better bet.
Maybe it’s “Mission accomplished” for him too. I think that’s the case for Mr. Ed.
You might be right on the Perry effect. I thought she would hang on for a while but having staff issues is never a good thing i.e.; Newty.
Maybe its Mission accomplished for him too. I think thats the case for Mr. Ed.
That was my thought also.
Maybe he was the one that advised her about ‘Elvis’s birthday’ fiasco and she’s letting him go?
“Michele Bachmann deputy campaign manager to depart”
and so it begins....
Politico and their unnamed GOP sources and their mystery facts...however:
Could it be that Rollins & Co. spent a buttload of money she didn’t have to win the Straw Poll that doesn’t mean anything except they bought tickets to get votes...and gain a momentum she didn’t have in the first place, was for Rollins’ benefit instead of hers have anything to do with it? And is Bachmann finally waking up to this kind of bad campaign management?
It’s a governor over a legislator thing. I know that was why I switched. Well, that and the seemingly constant gaffes for about a week out of her camp.
He said in another article posted here that he’s getting to old for this stuff after having a heart attack a year and a half ago. I wouldn’t read much more into it. Slow day at Politico.
And those who don’t believe Perry is a good bet like me are worried sick. Praying that Cain and Bachmann can do better or else Palin can jump in. Otherwise, I feel uneasy. But it’s early. Just my 2 cents.
True
I sent her a business letter sharing my thoughts on Rollins and a variety of other topics.
I further suggested that she treat her campaign like a businesswoman with defined goals and objectives.
I never received a direct response; but she kept my $50.00 donation.
Now, all I get from her people are email requests for more money and generalities about "taking America back." What the hell does that mean?
None of these jerks define their solutions.
This is the deputy campaign manager. Two in one day if the report is accurate. There was a direct quote from this person in the article but, we’ll see.
Bachmann was terrific in the Demint SC forum today.
It smells even more like Bachmann may be running low on cash, unable to pay Rollins to work full time and can’t afford to keep Rollins’ deputy at all.
If memory serves, she has a history of staff turnover. They all say nice things about her when they leave, but it seems she has more than her share.
Bingo- you nailed it.
You mean the real support and loyalty to Bachmann only goes as far as the checks coming in? I’m shocked! /s
