Palin Warns Tea Partiers of Disunity as Her Decision Looms
RCP ^ | September 5, 2011 | Scott Conroy

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- As her self-imposed deadline to decide on a presidential run nears, Sarah Palin told a robust crowd of about 1,000 people here Monday that the Tea Party has thrived without a single standard-bearer and would continue to do so. “The Tea Party movement is bigger than any one person, and it’s not about any one candidate,” Palin said. “And thank goodness we don’t have any one single leader. The movement is about bringing together debate and discussion of solutions from ‘We, the people,’ not the politicos.” Palin hit on many of the themes -- combating “crony capitalism” and the permanent political class -- that she focused on in her highly anticipated speech Saturday in Indianola, Iowa. But in New Hampshire, her emphasis was more on the future of the Tea Party than how she might define her own potential candidacy. “Let’s talk straight about some of the problems in trying to grow this movement that is so needed,” said Palin, who has said she will decide on whether to run for president by the end of September. “ ... continued here

Palin is following her own script to a tee!

Palin is running. Trust me.

My reading of Palin since I have been following her for 3 years is that, since the end of the 2008 campaign, she has seriously wanted to consider running for President.

Additionally, that the most important thing in the entire exercise was to NOT publicly say "yes" until she was ready to say "YES" (for the following reasons below). Holding off saying an official "yes", would allow her to be judged strictly on the basis of who she really is as a person and not a "politician".

There were two distinct considerations to address:

the PERSONAL and the STRATEGIC.

The PERSONAL ones were the most quicker ones to address. I believe they were addressed early on, and have been settled. She said so herself that on the personal side, her family is most important, that it would be a question of her family "saying no" to keep her from considering running. You don't go 3 years wondering if the family is a "no".

The STRATEGIC, has been methodically addressed over the last 3 years, culminating with her speech on Saturday and today.

The STRATEGIC, was made up of TWO major components all reliant on her holding off from publicly announcing a "YES" for as long as possible, taking into consideration that she would have the best name recognition and the largest and most committed grassroots volunteers nationwide of any candidate.

1. The concerted efforts by radical leftists to eliminate her politically and financially by exploiting Alaska's easy filing of ethics claims (all rejected eventually) forced her resignation from the Governorship, and caused her to initiate an 'reintroduction to America' campaign which would cover 2 years: Book writing, TV Series, Fox contributor, selected interviews (Newsweek), and FB postings. I believe that she cannot add anymore to this than what she has already done. So this phase was essentially over a few months ago.

2. Hold off in announcing as late as possible in order to determine the make up of the serious announced candidates for 2012, which would allow her to initially announce an agenda message that would contrast her CANDIDACY distinctly apart from everyone else's. This phase was completed this weekend with her laying the main agenda.

Now. the only thing remaining is the DATE / TIME / PLACE for her announcement!

I can’t wait for her to announce. The only thing that I really really hope she does is not tell a single soul (maybe husband) that she is going to announce and then go up on state and say “Ladies and Gentlemen, I am the next President of the United States.” That would be so cool and a great way to throw off the media too. They would be talking about it for a month....they will anyway but just think of how fun that would be. Sarah Palin the next President of the United States!!!!!

Yes, that would certainly be ‘cool’. No doubt about it.

Plus, when she announces she comes under all kinds of campaign laws which she isn’t bound to yet.

Well written and interesting I do hope you are right because win/lose she adds to the debate to defeat an unreelectable President.

In her latest SarahPac note, she included HERSELF among those being “vetted”. She is already in.

Palin sticker is still on the bumper of my truck from 2008 (sliced off the "McCain" part awhile back).
As soon as she announces, I send off a check (me and a few million other Americans).
I think the Repubbie establishment will be shocked at the money she brings in.

That is true, but I did not see them as important as the two main ones above. Remember, Perry only announced just 21 days ago. I believe that she was waiting for this final shoe to drop before announcing her campaign theme. As you can see, her 2012 message contrasts distinctly from all the others, primarily backed up by her RECORD - not just ‘words’.

I would say the date to keep an eye on is SEP 17th (Constitution Day - U.S. Constitution signed September 17, 1789).

No kidding. We used to have a guy at work who’d been an ambassador to some flea-ridden country in the third world. He would make your life miserable if you ever addressed him without using “Mister Ambassador”. This is America, we’re not supposed to have an aristocracy. It’s bad enough that we have the Kennedys who think that the term Senator should be an inherited title.

All I need to do is send it in. Truck wrap is ordered and sticlers are on standby.

Happy days or here again...

BINGO!

She's changing the campaign saga back to a shorter period instead of these 2+ years of media hype driven BS. She'll announce when its time and ride the wave in, spending a TON of money earned while "not" a candidate and send the DONKEYS scrambling to stiffle a juxtaposed bump and wave.

Not 100% sure it will work, but she's looking like she's going to attempt it. Only thing i can't grasp is who the VP would be and how early they are let in on it?

I will be looking for that for sure. I am on board with Sarah just from watching her after her speech on Saturday doing the rope line and being patient gracious and uniquely gifted in making a connection with the folks. It was riveting for me and I was not even there. Thanking folks, asking their name, and signing everything in sight, with endless pictures for 45 minutes. She is the best retail politician of the bunch and will work harder than the rest and be focused on the prize.

Yes the clock is 'ticking' and the next 2 weeks are going to be incredible! One reporter to keep your eye on (his main goal is to know about everything 'Palin') and he's been doing a good job in reporting on her every move... Scott Conroy.

He co-authored a good book.. "Sarah from Alaska"

I have this sneaking feeling that you can put this name on her top 3 list... Marco Rubio ( "The Real Deal' conservative, FL, hispanic, eloquent speaker)

We know mare about the other candidate’s “warts” than we would have had she entered earlier. And those exposed “warts” give her the opportunity to draw a clear distinction between her vision of governing vs the other candidates.
