My company being an international concern HQ’d in Canada, both national flags are displayed. In the U.S, ours is discernibly higher; in Canadian offices, their protocols govern. It only shows the proper respect.

To do anything else, particularly at a governmental entity, smacks of a deliberate (un-American) agenda...

The US flag should actually not be flown higher than the Canadian flag at your company in the US. Instead they should be flown on two flagpoles of equal height. The US flag should placed in the position of honor, it’s own right (someone looking at the building will see Old Glory on the left).

In Canada, the positions would be reversed.
