The US flag should actually not be flown higher than the Canadian flag at your company in the US. Instead they should be flown on two flagpoles of equal height. The US flag should placed in the position of honor, it’s own right (someone looking at the building will see Old Glory on the left).
In Canada, the positions would be reversed.
The flagpoles are the same height, and the U.S. flag is on the left as you pull in the lot, but our flag has been hung a bit higher — probably not realizing these protocols.
