My heart goes out to all y'all. this is the first year that MT hasn't lost a couple hundred thousand acres of timber to fire in about a decade. While big timber isn't the same as what you have, I understand, believe me, I do.
It occurs to me that those folks making light of it must be city folks that have no idea what drought does to the land - and the damage done, not only by fire and smoke, but the aftermath of it all too... I would imagine (and you probably well know) that you will be feeding those deer all winter, as their forage will likely not be back until the spring.
But whether or not the offense of others (who don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground), I predict that Texas will make do without their support and understanding... that Texans will pull on their boots and make it work alone, because that is what Texans always do.
I don’t know that it is an ugly place to be. I find it more disappointing.
I read this thread earlier in the day and I must say I was dismayed. I only came back to post because while watching the evening news they had some Dem lady that sounded like a lot of these posts...from Freepers.
Maybe a lot of the folks on this site don’t know Texas. I certainly understand that. A lot of folks on this site don’t know that Perry has led us successfully thru many disasters in the last years. We don’t get much publicity. :)
Do I think Perry is without warts? Absolutely not. Is he doing the job he is being paid to do..absolutely. I really don’t think any candidate, declared or maybe declared is without warts.
My point being..when we have a good number of Freepers screeching like some Dem chick on the Texas news...we have a
major problem, imho.
“city folks”...you maybe right...and it sure makes me a little more forgiving.
