Tim Scott Hosts Gov. Rick Perry Live
Be sure to slide the volume up on the video.
FYI, I follow Rick Perry on Facebook. So when there is an event I find it there. RickPerry.org keeps you updated there.
I think jobs and the economy are first in the minds of most Americans. Then the debt.
After that, immigration.
I just noticed that he says ‘nukular.’ That’s going to make liberal heads explode! Hee-hee.
And the Department of Homeland Security hasn’t provided a d@#n bit of security, either.
The Department of Defense has that job, and with our deficit as large as it is, we can’t afford to maintain redundant governmental departments.
That’s us Texans for ya’... we also say ALL for OIL...
Rambling on is bad politics, because it gives your opponents more ammo to use against you. It’s good politics, however, to try and get your opponent to ramble, as it give *YOU* ammo to use against them.
I've got to check this out. Robert Duval is one of my favorite actors EVER.
The serious wildfires have not been going on “all week,” as you say. Yesterday was the first bad day. The truth is that Perry cannot really add anything by being nearby, but he will be criticized if he is not around.
That’s the story of governors (and mayors). That’s why Christie and Bloomberg were so “on top of” Irene—they’d both been caught out of pocket during a bad snow storm back in late December.
The fires have been flaring for weeks, but yesterday was much worse. Yet because Perry’s running for president (right after being elected as guv) he’s at a ‘town hall’ in SC on Monday morning instead of back at his desk in Austin (or wherever in TX a fire disaster takes him).
Have I entered the Twilight Zone? My browser must be hijacked because www.freerepublic.com seems to redirect me to DU based on the posted criticism of a governor returning to his state where property and resources are being burned to ash and people are dying. I think I’ll actually logout and leave the site and start watching religious channels on TV. I am in need of some cleansing.
Winds have picked up considerably in past 24-48 hours & wildfires are not very closed to major cities.
Don’t be a jerk, ok?
I feel the same way! The only thing that worries me is I felt the same way about Bush in 2000. But he was still better than Gore and Perry, I think, will be much better than Bush. He’s been the greatest governor.
You should go to Congressman Scott’s campaign website and sign up for his e-mail updates. You can sign up here: http://www.votetimscott.com/join-tim/email-sign-up/
I live over 1,000 miles away from Charleston, yet I knew about this event (I’ve been receiving e-mails from Congressman Scott’s campaign ever since I donated to his campaign during last year’s primaries).
Congressman Scott is one of the best guys we have in Congress—I hope that he takes out Lindsey Graham in the 2014 GOP Senate primary so that SC can have two conservatives in the U.S. Senate.
Ditto.
You have to account for disaster declaration and the mobilization of emergency resources. Perry cannot very well conduct the state's business from S. Carolina. Winds abruptly shifted from the north yesterday at 30+ mph in an epic drought.
Yet, you want Perry to ignore Texas and stay in South Carolina. Or, you wanted him back in Texas earlier. Which is it? Is there anything the man could do to make you happy?
NO.
The guy is doing his job. Gotta respect that, giving up national exposure for the nomination to look out for the people who elected him.
No, I’d have Perry back in Texas spending more time doing the job he was just elected to do. And when the state’s on fire, that goes doubly so.
Good thread. Only three detractors, two couldn’t find anything bad to say about anything he said and were reduced to being bored, and the 3rd decided it was a good idea to attack Perry for wildfires in his state.
He IS back in Texas doing the job he was just elected to do. Unlike Palin, who abandoned her job as governor.
mmm-mm-mmmm
