The Rick Perry - ACORN connection explained: A primer for non-Texans
EnterStageRight ^ | Sept. 5, 2011 | Linda Prussen-Razzano

In 2005, the Texas State Legislature passed HB 1823, which allowed people with a Contract for Deed to refinance their mortgage and convert the Contract for Deed to a Deed of Trust. They were then able to get out from under the terms of the contract, transfer title to their name, and assume full responsibility for their property and their lives. There were a number of steps homeowners had to take to comply with the law, and they were obviously responsible to pay the mortgage, but it gave homeowners greater power over their property.

ACORN, which supported HB 1823, praised the Legislature and Governor Perry for passing it.

So when folks go around bashing Governor Perry for signing these bills just because ACORN supported one of them, it tells me they are all hat, no cattle, and a person to be pitied. They are obviously not a Texan.

Why is exposing a candidates record going negative? The voters have a right to know. Hell, even Sarah Palin told the candidates to go after each other's record. You're fooling yourself if you think she won't. She's already questions Perry's spending in Texas by retweeting an article critical of it.

And if you think Romney, Bachmann and Cain aren't going to go after Perry and his immigration record, you're not living in reality.

You seem to think Perry’s inability to do it on the back of working Texans disqualifies him as a Candidate.

Perry and Acorn: Perry’s camp trying to spin it!

When you start calling the facts "spin", it kind of shows your true intention.

"Hey, we have a picture of Perry with Acorn People, and those evil Perry supporters are explaining what the bill he is signing actually does, and it makes us look like idiots, so let's call it "spin" like Bil O'Reilly, because that comparison makes us look so much better."

Or in the dark corner -- "Damn, we thought we had him with the ACORN picture, who would have thought that ACORN could actually have supported something that makes sense -- what was the chance of THAT happening!!!"

So, we know what the bill was. Go back to your corner, read up on the bill, and come back and explain why signing that bill was a bad thing. "ACORN liked it" isn't an argument.

Not surprising at all for a border state, but then how do you explain New Jersey? Is Chris Christie soft on immigration also? Is Bobby Jindal soft on immigration also? Is Mary Fallin soft on immigration? Is Brian Sandoval soft on immigration? HUH? HUH? HUH? HUH?

If Palin enters the race it will divide the party and we’ll get 4 more years of horror from Obozo.

If Palin announces, the moderate conservative, Perry, needs to get out of the race, Period.

Or did you forget you are on a conservative website, not a GOP website?

Any association with ACORN should be met with resistance and disdain. ANY. It is a corrupt group. And you’re crazy if you don’t think Perry won’t be tainted because of this, especially after Breitbart exposed them nationally.

“For one, she does not have the financial backing like Perry does.”

That could because Palin isn't for sale and hasn't offered special favors to major campaign contributors like Perry has for three terms.

But why do the lefts work here ?
Your comments give one side of the story and any decision by TX Gov is limited because the TX laws restrict the powers of the Governor office. After the Civil War, the
State laws decentralized each branch's powers .

Since I already support Sarah Palin, I guess the last laugh is on your sorry arse! The thing is that I can be a Palin supporter without carrying the democrat bucket of lies and horse manure regarding my governor Rick Perry.

The democrats are so laughing at your sorry behind as you carry their load of lies around for them. Just like they laughed like hyaenas everytime republicans carried their lies about Sarah Palin for them.

What are you going to do if Sarah Palin doesn’t run...get skidmarks in your britches?

Rick Perry is the only candidate that has shown me he knows where all the rats are in Obamas machine.

We need some one that will clean house.
The Texas Legislature is now solidly conservative and that happened on Perry’s watch.

Perry has his eye on Eric Holder and Lisa Jackson along with the rest of the vermin.

I think a man who had 10 years to make major changes in a state with one of the largest populations of illegals has done nothing to stem the tide. He says the Arizona law won't work in Texas, but doesn't offer anything remotely like it that would. Yet, he develops programs like in-state tuition for illegals under the guise of compassionate conservatism, and is now going to lead our country on one of the biggest problems facing us today???

Absolutely NOT.

Since when is vetting a candidate leftist work? If we can’t do this to our own ‘guys’, we have bigger problems than worrying about leftist doing so.

If Palin announced before Perry, would you be calling on him to not get in the race?
