Obamas Illegal Move On Immigration
By David B. Rivkin Jr. and Lee A. Casey
Only Congress has constitutional authority to establish U.S. immigration policy, and fundamental reform requires legislative action. Thus the administrations recent announcement that deportation will be sought only for undocumented immigrants who have committed crimes in the United States violates the separation of powers and is unconstitutional.
No president, of course, can hope to expel every undocumented person in the United States they number perhaps upward of 11 million people. Human and financial resources to identify, apprehend, process and promptly deport millions have been lacking for years as has, arguably, the political will to do so. In this environment, immigration enforcement authorities, under administrations of both parties, have performed as best they could given their resources. Still, millions have been deported over the years. And while many had been convicted of serious criminal offenses, most deportees have not been in that category.
The policy that Obama unveiled last month differs fundamentally from the spotty immigration enforcement records of previous presidents. The administration indicated that, henceforth, deportation will be focused solely on illegal immigrants who have criminal records and that no enforcement resources will be expended on those who do not pose a threat to public safety. The effect is that undocumented individuals who have avoided apprehension at the border and not been convicted of a serious offense since arriving to the United States will no longer face the prospect of deportation, the most basic means of immigration enforcement.
This goes far beyond merely prioritizing the use of limited immigration enforcement resources. And it exceeds the presidents constitutional authority by, in effect, suspending operation of the immigration laws with respect to a very large and identifiable class of offenders.

OMG!!! This was in the Washington Post? I’m flabbergasted.
So Obama, what say you??
H
Are these Holders People??
Amen!
0 with 0 jobs will be facing a challenger.Powell Bayh? We need a strong candidate.
I have been wondering the same thing. Why is congress and the media letting this punk do this?
sorry wrong thread. lol
The GOP RINO’s don’t dislike foreign invasion any more than Obama does.
How many time have we ask that question about how many different things. Old sheets would go to court in a heart beat. But then it would require a republican that was actually opposed to start something. Boner has the power to do it, but you know that is a no go.
The only reason he wants to deport illegals that are felons is because they can’t vote. Impeach anyone that will try and go around our laws. If you think this guy cares, you got a lot to learn. If he’s re-elected, watch out. If he knows he can’t be re-elected, watch out for what he’ll try and do before he leaves office. This man cannot be trusted.

The gentle writer at the Washington Post should read this...
What did Presidents Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?
This is something that
should be of great interest for you to pass around.
I didn’t know of this until it was pointed out to me.
Back during the great
depression, Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation
of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs
available to American citizens that desperately
needed work.
Harry Truman deported
over two million illegal aliens after WWII to create
jobs for returning veterans.
In 1954 Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexicans.
The program was called Operation Wetback.
It was don e so WWII and Korean veterans would
have a better chance at jobs. It took two
years, but they deported them!
Now
if they could deport the illegal aliens back then,
they could sure do it today. If you have
doubts about the veracity of this information, enter
Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine
and confirm it for yourself.
Why
you might ask can’t they do this today?
Actually the answer is quite simple.
Hoover , Truman, and Eisenhower were men of
honor, not untrustworthy politicians looking for votes!
Oh, and and just a reminder:
Don’t forget to pay your taxes - 12 to 20
million illegal aliens are depending on you!
The shocker here is that the Washington Post published this opinion piece!
Are they trying to send some kind of message to their friend Obama by doing so?
This is all one huge typo by the Washington Post, move along now. /s =.=
The surprising thing is the US black voting contingent is amenable, when in fact the Illegal is a direct threat to citizen employment, including that large percentage of blacks.
Thus Obama and his puppet masters estimate that black racist psychology is solid enough so that the palpable threat of illegal competition can be ignored, as well as the indignity to the US taxpayer.
"They" are not dumb, they are calculating.
Keeping this in mind consider Hillary Clinton, or Jay Rockefeller, or Olympia Snowe, or George Soros, or your clueless neighbor, none of whom say anything about blatant abuse of US national integrity and law.
How sinister can you get? Yet you will never hear it from the DC elite nor the MS Media.
The "Change" is in the works; just not the one that at least some Americans, emotionally blinded by the Media to hate conservatism, envisioned.

We went to the MOON and we cannot deport 10 million illegal aliens?..
I think somebody is not thinking large enough..
Illegal aliens are in fact INSURGENTS!!.. or undocumented felons.. that NEEDs documentation..
“something uncostitutional” happens everyday in our government.
Look at “don’t ask - don’t tell” a law passed by the people now they the military says it is only a policy and they can change it.
The law is on the books and our government and military simply ignore and change it.
I figured the Rick Perry contingent will defend this type of policy.oh wait, soon enough they will.
I’ll tell you why they won’t challenge it. Because most of them WANT it, but they can’t afford to vote to approve it by Congressional vote as mandated in the Constitution. Thus, they are fine with Obama taking this UNCONSTITUTIONAL step.
I would hope that ONE or TWO Congress-people WOULD file suit — although the Federal Courts are so stacked with Progressive Judicial Activists that my bet is they’d throw it out of court. And heaven help the mere citizens should THEY attempt to file suit against Obama for this! “No Legal Standing!” He’s beyond question on everything FOR US MERE PEONS!
