"So many of them, they arrive in Washington, DC of modest means and then miraculously throughout the years they end up becoming very, very wealthy. Well, it's because they derive power and their wealth from their access to our money, to taxpayer dollars."
"They use it to bail out their friends on Wall Street. And their corporate cronies. And to reward contributors. And to buy votes via earmarks. There is so much waste. And there is a name for this. It's called 'corporate crony capitalism,'" she said.
Like you, Im not for sale. I believe in the free market and that is why I detest crony capitalism. And Barack Obama has shown us cronyism on steroids. It will lead to our downfall if we dont stop it now.
The speech, roughly 40 minutes, ranged from politics to policy. Palin made sure to address reforming taxes and entitlements. Palin called for eliminating all federal corporate income taxes and called entitlement reform "our duty."

So is she implying that Michelle Bachmann is for sale? Rick Perry is for sale? What a cliche.
I don’t know...she sure has made a lot of money for not being for sale. She and her daughter sure do like that money. NOW, I’m not saying that she’s doing anything wrong, it’s just a bit disengenous to make these proclamations when her daughter is about to do a reality show. You know I don’t like her, but when she talks like this I detest her even more.

Blasphemer!
So she quits the governorship of Alaska to sell books, appear in her own TV show, and make lots of money, but she’s not for sale.
Rick Perry famously has been for sale—for years.
She was simply accurately explaining why the Karl Roves of the world are against her as much as the Democrats are, and pointing out her unique record of reform. Oh, and that reform is also the only thing that’ll stop the government from growing, so a reformer is who we need as president.
Bachmann does appear to have been for sale, first to the marriage-defense interests who funded her start in politics and then for the nefarious reasons she was put in the race and given Rollins to steer her.
But Palin said none of that and IMO didn’t imply any of that re: Bachmann either. Within the GOP she slightly pointed (for good reason) to the mega fundraisers, who would be Perry and Romney—not Bachmann.
hmmmm.....you’ve got a point, as much as I don’t like to hear it.
I’m reminded of the whole Kate Gosselin thing.
I’d like to see Sarah as energy secretary.
I hope our people don’t cannibalize each other so badly, that they don’t utilize their talents when this is all over.
Her daughter supporting her grandson with free-market participating in the entertainment industry has nothing to do with corrupt pols selling out the country for the interests of their donors.
Jeesh!
By that standard, when you go to work, you’re for sale to.
Making money isn’t evil or against the law.
Bristol didn’t make the decision about the Kate Gosselin episode - or bringing reality tv into their home.
Not that Sarah doesn’t have every right to do that - she does.
But if you are going to point your finger at others and insininuate they are “for sale” - you have to be ready for the eventual fallout of where you just made your own pile of dough.
Am I mistaken that you too work in media? ... Are you whoring yourself out by working in media ... and the schedule SArah has maintained is sure more work than your current pResident seems to be able to handle.
So, when did making your own money on the open markets mean you’re for sale for government taxpayer dollars for power? Geebus, get a clue what cronyism is.
Yea, she sure sold a lot of political influence and government contracts from those, now didn’t she? Projection will get you nowhere.
Your jealousy over her superior appearance is duly noted, hildy.
I still don't know if she can pull off the nomination...or beat the machine that gave us Obama. There has been so much negative press on Sarah over the past years. I don't know if it was wise of her to stay in the spotlight, or if she should have played it a bit more "quiet." But beating all the hateful libs (esp. the women), and anti-Palin press/media, and those spiteful GOP good old boys would be very difficult, I think. I really, really want a candidate that will UNITE not only the Republican party, but also America. At one time I think Sarah could have done it...before so very much was said against her (even though most of it untrue). I just don't know if she can do it now.
It is a sad story, in a way. She has the capability to lead very well, and she does rebound in the most surprising and admirable ways. But, she has become so polarizing in the political world. Can she really rally both parties to work together, or would we have more gridlock in DC with Sarah in the Oval Office, even with all her good intentions and wisdom, could she whip those career politicians into shape?
No, I pointed out the truth. She quit on the people who elected her. When the going gets tough, quitters quit. I don’t worship those who filed frivolous lawsuits, I hold them in the greatest contempt.
It's more than a bit intellectually dishonest to confuse making money in in a free market (which Palin did), and making money through political corruption and cronyism (which Perry did).
You know the difference.
I wish I had a lot money. Don’t you?
George Clooney has a lot of money.
Jon Stewart has a lot of money.
Mitt Romney has a lot of money.
Rick Perry has a lot of money.
The Bush Family has a lot of money.
Dick Cheney has a lot of money.
Katie Couric has a lot of money.
John McCain married a lot of money.
The NFL has a lot of money.
The NBA has a lot of money.
Hollywood has a lot of money.
Big media has a lot of money.
Is there some reason Sarah Palin shouldn’t be allowed to legally earn and create a lot of money? She capitalized on her talents and experience and created wealth for her family. GOOD FOR HER!
