Obama and Jerry Brown are strange bedfellows
The Washington Times Communities ^ | September 3, 2011 | Gabriella Hoffman

Welcome to the People’s Republic of California.

Famous for “California Gurls,” the Orange County and Beverly Hills Housewives, labor unions, and corrupt politicians, the Golden State welcomes you to chaos, superficiality, and exorbitant spending!

Hate the Tea Party? Party it up in Maxine Waters’ hellish district! Hate wealthy people and believe in high taxes? Lavishly dine at Nancy Pelosi’s Napa Valley winery!

California’s current economic and cultural conditions should frighten all Americans. Make no mistake: it is on the verge of collapse.

The most populous state in the union is also recognized as the world's eighth largest economy.

Firms like Qualcomm, Apple Inc., Google, eBay, etc., brought vast wealth, monetary and human, to the state. Attractions like Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Sea World, and Hollywood have drawn millions of tourists. California’s impeccable weather, endless beaches, and historic charm are the envy of other states and the world.

Nevertheless, my state is crumbling.

Decades of Democratic misrule, special interests, and horrendous legislation have set the Golden State up for disaster. Additionally, the Left Coast haven’s embrace of alternative lifestyles and secularism has brought more harm than good.

America led by Obama, much as California once and again led by Jerry Brown, has fallen into a dismal state. This is partly because both men share the same leftist vision for California and America.

California currently faces a$ 26.3 billion shortfall, while the national debt is projected to be $16.3 trillion by 2012.

When Cardinal Roger Mahoney convinced Mayor Bradley to enact Special Order 40, an order to not ask residency questions, who could have stopped it? A local judge? The governor? The DOJ? The Supreme Court? The president?

I need to know. I want to know how many layers of the government let Special Order 40 go un-challenged.

I would like to know who all the people are today that could strike Special Order 40 void. Is it a local judge? A Governor? I don’t know who has the power to supersede Special Order 40.

California, the land that lost its way.

Most of the defective thinking is centered on Sacramento/San Francisco and the LA Basin, areas of enough of the population to pretty much dominate the legislature and the direction of political agendas. California is blessed with an abundance of mineral and agricultural potential, but the poorly wired minds that have seized control cannot or will not see the consequences of their actions.

The universe is a cruel taskmaster and teacher.

"The most populous state in the union is also recognized as the world's eighth largest economy."

I think this cliché is in need of revision.

"Nevertheless, my state is crumbling."

Yes. The Once Golden State is in an advance state of decay.

THIS is DECADENCE--the destroyer of civilizations--the destroyer of the Once Golden State--the etiology of the fall of California.

Civilizations fall because of internal moral rot.

The "new morality" of the '60s counter culture movement--which California embraced wholeheartedly--was nothing more than self-indulgence and immorality, especially scorn of truth.

This was the nidus of moral rot.

The fall of California will be its consequence.

“Most of the defective thinking is centered on Sacramento/San Francisco and the LA Basin, areas of enough of the population to pretty much dominate the legislature and the direction of political agendas.”

We used to have the state senators come from each county so the rural areas were equally represented. The F’d up US Supreme court (stacked with liberals at the time) declared “one man one vote” and forced all states to redo the senates by population rather than county. Guaranteed that the urban centers would dominate and thus that the rats would dominate, which was the plan.
