Perry is the GOP version of Obama.
Over-hyped, Under-vetted, the object of blind worship, pushing government health solutions on the citizens, seeking to take over transportation, a large government slush fund for promoting preferred businesses, willing to sell sensitive industries to China, with questionable ties to Muslims, promoting pro-choice candidates in 2008, and with dubious allegiances to other countries.
There are only two things Perry has going for him:
They're both narcissistic globalists who like to live high on the hog on other peoples' money.
Cheers!
There's a word for this statement.
Projection.
Perry is vetted. His hype is simple; 10-0 election record, 11 years as governor, reasonably better than he is bad, able to beat Obama handily. He's got some problems, but the benefits outweigh them. All candidates have their problems. In the aggregate, Perry's simply a better bet.
As far as 'worship', there's nobody that's anything more than 'satisfied' with him. I'd be happy to dump him with as much emotional attachment as I would trading one rental car for another. I'm not looking for a religious experience out of my politicians, any more than I'm looking for my dream car at Hertz or National.
Obama was there to fill the imagination of a long suffering segment of the American electorate. To millions of people, he was the shining champion of their values and the standard bearer of their passionate vision for what America should be. His thin resume was a blank slate that they filled with their hopes and dreams. Anything they wanted to see was there, like a mirror into their own hearts.
There are icons on the right that fill that role, but Rick Perry isn't one of them.
