Well put, Mariner. The task of cleaning-up Washington DC is so great that few imagine it possible. With Sarah, I think it is. The screwing that taxpayers take at the hands of Washington bureaucrats is untold. Holding them to account seems impossible to many. Which is to say, "Why even try?"
A natural conservative such as Sarah, surrounded by Levin-types at every level would spell a re-birth of America unbeknownst to those too young to recall Reagan's Revolution. He was called 'stupid' too.
[I once heard a Palindrone claim that Sarah was smarter than William F. Buckley, but your post now takes the title of stupidity comment ever. ]
How about someone repeats it for you. Buckley was a decent guy as it goes, but in many ways an effete east cost establishment prig. Oh, we all know his vocabulary was prodigious, but I’d start a company with the Palins, but would never do so with Buckley. In short, I would trust Palin’s judgment over William F.

Ruling is what Presidents do. Ruling is choosing the right men and policies,managing them, and negotiating with other men of power. It is not dictating, but leadership. Even a great dictator leads from the front rather than just issue orders. Caesar was small, even boyish when he was made a general, but he learned to ride with the best, and to lead men into battle. I may be wrong about Palin, but I think she has that kind of steel and decisivess, and the ability to draw others to her.
Mark my words. This shallow, selfish woman is going to run third party just to keep her name in lights. She will guarantee an Obama reelection. She hasn’t got the guts, smarts, or organizational ability to run a successful presidential-level campaign within the GOP.
Look at the big picture, the ideas, the totality
Sarah speaks American English, just like the people who vote. Compared to Barry and the TOTUS , Sarah is Cicero!
Sarah gives a great speech. “Firing a shot across their bow” is a nautical term of warning. Heads up MItt and Barry!
Well, yes, and no. Buckley was not cut out to hold office. You would have been better off with his father as a partner. But as the leader of a movement, he excelled.

Endorsing someone for Governor doesn’t mean you would endorse them for POTUS. I took Sarah’s remark as a message to Mitt, Perry, but mainly to Obama.

Uh?....you make your voting decision based on if or not supporters of a candidate are "vicious" or not. Hummm-mmm......Well with this election is hardly off the ground so you have not seen anything yet....this ones going to be brutal... so looks like there won't be any for you to vote for.
I read that Palins crowd today was the biggest any candidate has had there...and that in the midst of a rain storm!
William F Buckey had a first rate intellect with wit, charm, and prodigious scholarship. One has to remember his brilliant “God and Man at Yale” written in 1951. The conservative movement of today owes him a lot.
Without Buckley, there would be no conservative movement as we know it today.
