Just as I was typing this the female play-by-play idiot just said something about BSU playing a 'Big Boy' in Georgia.
FFS how many BCS bowl games and rated teams does BSU have to beat to get some respect?
Would you say Boise State’s second biggest game this season is against TCU? TCU’s lost last night could hurt Boise State in future polls.
Coming to play an SEC team is a start, although GA is weaker than day old beer this year - I wouldn't hang my hat on a win over GA this year. It is about surviving a gruelling smash-mouth schedule week after week - not beating a decent team every now and then and playing cupcakes the rest of the time. SEC - real football, period!
Good luck going done to Georgia. The Dawgs will not be easy in the Goergiadome?
Utah St. is not beating much if they defeat AU today. The team is picked no better than 6-6 by most experts. That would be the worse record of a defending national champ ever if that happens. Had AU not had the illegal QB last year, they would not have won the NC. Scam Newton’s daddy took illegal money. Yet, the stupid NCAA says that because Scam did not know it (right wanna bet) that daddy took money, he was not illegal. Wrong. His daddy was his agent in this matter. Thus he should have not been able to play. But now daddy has Scam’s NFL money too keep his seven churches up and running.
I think you have a narrow view of things Iceman.
Boise does have respect - the kind you get by being a great team. But they do not have a schedule that allows them to claim a shot at a title. One great win is not enough. Coming to the SEC is a start for sure - but they will have to create a much more rigorous schedule to be top tier, nat champ possibles IMO.
Boise is stuck in a weaker conference and that’s too bad b/c I think they’d make it in any big conference. They need to play top teams as often as possible - but even that may not be enough to get them a shot. 11 games with 8 being not anything special leaves 3. SEC for example will play 8+ monster games. That is as much what makes a team nat champ eligible as anything.
Georgia is near the bottom of the SEC, but that’s not a bad place when viewed in a national lens. I’d like Boise to play Texas, Oregon, Michigan, LSU, Florida, S. Carolina, Alabama, Virginia Tech, etc. But in their conference that isn’t possible. FWIW this is what SEC teams do.
Boise may have to step out or get invited to pac 10 or something. But they are damn good.
did anyone really think, with the exodus of prime talent, Auburn would win more than six games this season??
