Paul dismisses Perry as a ‘candidate of the week’

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Republican presidential contender Ron Paul likened fellow Texan Rick Perry to a “candidate of the week” on Friday and said his Republican opponent’s poll numbers would fall quickly once voters get to know him better.

“He was the one saying, ‘Oh yeah, I’m all for secession,’ and that kind of talk,” Paul told The Associated Press. “The only thing I would advise is looking into him, looking at his record, and not just taking him at face value. Texas has had a lot of changes in these last eight years, not exactly positive either.”

In a 2009 interview, Perry said there was no reason for Texas to secede from the union, but suggested it was a possibility if Washington political leaders continued to “thumb their nose at the American people.”

I voted for Ron Paul in the NC primary because of my dislike of John McCRap but he’s crazy

How can Rand Paul be so reasonable and his father be so looney-toons? The proverbial apple fell off the tree and apparently landed on Ron Paul’s head. Other than encroaching senility, this is the only explanation I can account for the logic differences between father and son.

Twice before Perry, it will be a very, very, very cold day in hell before I would vote for an amnesty supporter.

Republican presidential contender Ron Paul likened fellow Texan Rick Perry to a “candidate of the week” on Friday and said his Republican opponent’s poll numbers would fall quickly once voters get to know him better.

Ron Paul may be the "candidate of the month," but, in comparison, Perry is the "candidate of the score years." [As in "four score and seven" years.]

In late 2007, Perry dissed on then-candidate Paul by endorsing another candidate for President, because ‘no Texan was running’.

The candidate Perry endorsed? Rudy Giuliani.

Looks like "The Libertarian" has no qualms about lies/misstatements. Makes you wonder just what you can believe...he's always seemed like a loon with a few good ideas - his supporters seemed to be fringe types. Whenever folks hype him I keep seeing McPain and the "Maverick" crapola....disaster if he wins, disaster if he loses.

RuPaul was not and is still not an option. The choices in 2007/2008 were pretty dismal.

The problem is Ron Paul is not a conservative republican. He’a libertarian...the next best thing to a progressive commie. I still can’t figure out WHY he’s allowed to run in the republican primaries and participate in the republican debates.

More rants from the crazy uncle of the Republican race. Ron Paul needs to go back up into the attic and stay out of the public eye.

Comic relief, I'd guess.
