Watch the video.
It's Rick Perry in his own words.
Oh, you mean he has the ability to spot a poorly written law that can be abused in order to destroy a person? *cough*unlikepalin*cough*
Did you even read the letter you posted? Because he never thanks her for anything.
Of course, the real issue is that it also doesn't praise her health care, or call for government to take over health care, but since we've already beaten this stupid horse to death, I thought I'd stick to the clearly and demonstratably false claim you made about it.
Hilarious video. “In his own words” — his words are fine, but I assume it’s the mis-interpretation of his words that someone interjected into the video that interests you.
I’m reading his book, and I listened to what he actually said, and I’ve read quotes from him, and look at the texas record, and I can see exacrtly why Sarah Palin believes Rick Perry is a conservative.
Are you sure you want to call Sarah Palin an idiot? I don’t think she’s an idiot, and I don’t think she’s ignorant — she knew the record in Texas over Perry’s first two terms when she said these words: “He walks the walk of a true conservative.”
But you say only an idiot can believe Perry is a conservative. Palin believes he is a consvervative. So you are calling her an idiot.
This is the problem with name-calling in the place of an argument. I know a there are some freepers upset that Perry is gaining traction, but calling people idiots isn’t going to win them to your side.
And I forgot, a lot of the “perry’s own words” video were actually Lou Dobb’s own words.
I guess debating the merits of a particular highway program that no longer exists is an interesting diversion, but Emminent Domain is actually in the constitution, and it’s hardly a conservative principle to suggest that states can’t build a road if a homeowner refuses to sell the land to them.
Really, the TTG argument was an immigration argument. Nobody thinks Lou Dobbs would be against a highway that makes commerce easier if it wasn’t for where it was taking things from and to.
RINO is a meaningless word as used here, an epithet replacing actual debate.
Rick Perry is a Hard-Core conservative
Actually, you might be right -- since we argue the typical republican is a moderate squish who should be replaced by people with tea party conservative principles, maybe Perry IS a republican "in name only", being someone who "is true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction"
Don't take my word for it -- that's a direct quote from Sarah Palin. Maybe you think she's a RINO too.
The order he signed gave parents the choice for the vaccine, so you are simply wrong on that point. His actions instead gave those who wanted the vaccine insurance coverage (because of stupid federal and state regulations, insurance companies cover vaccines only if they are on the list of required vaccinations). I disagree with his order, and he of course recinded it years ago, but to the degree it is important at all it's important to get the facts right.
Are you talking about the “moderate” democrats in the time of the two world wars who gave us progressive income taxes, make works programs, and Keynesian spending during a recession?
Maybe the people who voted democrat were “moderates” at the time, but the politicians sure were not.
That’s true as well. Not only did Perry’s gardasil order NOT make parents second-class citizens, but rather gave them the choice, that argument would apply equally to ALL vaccinations, and I see very few conservatives anywhere arguing that vaccinations themselves are anti-conservative.
And it was before any of the panels started and before the government run aspect. He was acting on behalf of his state to commend the idea of solving a problem and suggested areas to be looked at. It wouldnt surprise me if there were 25 other similar letters.
It’s a common misconception. Campaigns look for high-ranking public officials to be their “state chair”. For example, in 2008 in Virginia Bill Bolling was ROmney’s State Chair, and Bob McDonald was Fred Thompson’s State Chair.
Neither of them were their candidate’s “campaign managers”, nor did they really have much to do with the campaigns, other than bringing along state organizations to help the campaigns out.
But it’s not like perry opponents care that much about getting the facts right. They did at first, but when those facts didn’t get the results they wanted, they started shading the facts.
Like changing “state chair” to “campaign manager”, or saying parents couldn’t opt out of the gardasil rules, or saying Perry wants comprehensive amnesty — all of which started with a seed of truth but are not wild hyberbole meant only to inflame.
Fortunately, the tactics, which are shared with Obama’s campaign staff and the folks at DU, aren’t really working.
Actually, your original claim is not true, in that you claimed he was Gore’s campaign manager. You intended to imply that he was Gore’s number two and working on the national level by omitting the fact that Perry was Gore’s Texas campaign corrdinator.
So in a way, what you did was just as bad as lying. You purposefully (because this issue is all over FR, and there is no way anyone posting on Perry didnt know that he was Gore’s Texas campaigner) omitted facts in order to make a candidate you dont like look worse to people who are lurking around.
My "pathetic" posting history? Fill me in, dearest grey_whiskers, what have I said that was false in my +10 years on here? More specifically, what have I been saying that's false regarding Perry?
I'm not going to sit by whilst somebody like Tempest accuses Perry of being gay, or that he supported Hillarycare, or that the US Constitution defines marriage.
That being said, I'll ask you again. What am I saying that's false or misleading?
Now, on to your personal attack on me, I chose not to work for any campaigns after 1999. I had other priorities in my life that were more important than campaigns. I am gainfully employed, and I'm very good at what I do. So, that being said, you can blow that nonsense out of your a$$.
LOL. Reagan voted for FDR all four times.
"Pathetic" = "lame" = "weakling, ineffectual" on behalf of Perry.
It does not necessarily mean "false" as you took it.
You should have seen the comment I erased before sending about you being chained to a radiator in Waco and not being fed unless you converted a certain number of Palin supporters to Perry every day.
Turn up the "gain" on your sarcasm detector; it's way too low.
Cheers!

Mixed bag Perry is a quantum leap foward vs The Bam.
If the candidates for Pres were McCain vs Perry would there be any question who would get your vote? Vs Obama then Perry looks mighty conservative in comparison. What other horse is there to ride? I like Cain, Bachmann and Palin but they have slim hopes other than VP selections.
None of those three has any hope of being the VP pick.
I have corrected incorrect statements by people on here regarding Perry. Judge Perry based on the facts, and not false statements that he's gay (Tempest), that he supports Hillarycare (Tempest), that Perry's against the US Constitution b/c the Constitution defines marriage (Tempest), etc.
Just as I can't stand false statements about Palin and Bachmann, I don't like them about Perry. I don't go around attacking Palin and Bachmann. I like them and respect them.
I don't have a history of having my comments removed. Tempest does. I don't know if I've ever posted an article on here to start a thread, but I do know that the Mods on here have yanked Tempest's posts, due to him/her linking to "crap" websites. Prime example are the links to the gay/lesbian sites.
“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” And you sure shouldn’t sell Liberty cheaply, for no purpose.
Stating that “it would not be the right direction for Texas” is not opposition. This is the Governor who called Social Security a “Ponzi scheme,” global warming a “carbon cult,” and called printing money for political purposes, “treasonous.”
The Feds only authorized 700 miles of fencing, and made actual efforts at 300. The border is 2000 miles long, and 1200 miles is in Texas. That wall was designed to be a failure: scalable with a truck or ladder, and un-manned. The plans always called for the fence to be “non-contiguous sections.”
Eminent domain by the Federal Government to take land and land use in Texas in order to set up a real fence would take 1200 miles, however deep, of private property from Texans. It would wipe out productive farms, ranches and homesteads owned by Americans. But again: there’s only plans for 300 miles in Texas.
“”The remaining 370 miles, to be built primarily in urban areas, are expected to have actual steel fencing. About 85 miles, in 26 noncontiguous sections, are expected to be built in Texas. The bulk of that fencing, about 70 miles, is slated for South Texas.””
We do have our DPS, our helicopters, our Rangers. We have 250 of the 1000 National Guardsmen and 2/6 aerial drones that Obama’s administration sent and we did win a reprieve when he decided to pull the troops after only 6 months. Then, there’s that fence, for all of its holes
We do have 1200 miles of border, so the few resources we have are stretched thin. By the time personnel reaches an area, say at the fence, where movement is detected, the invaders are nowhere to be seen.
Then, there’s also the problem with getting Houston, El Paso, Austin, etc., PD to identify and arrest illegal aliens. Their police chiefs are hostile to the idea. Some of the County Sheriffs refused to implement the virtual wall, some because they didn’t want to cooperate, but mostly because of the problem of reacting and manning response.
