Watch the video.
It's Rick Perry in his own words.
Yes, I'm lazy when it comes to hyperlinking. Here's the referenced article from earlier.
I'm not saying Perry didn't support Gore a quarter of a century ago, or that he didn't work for his campaign. However, saying he was Gore's campaign manager is incorrect.
And unlike Tempest, I don't use the gay/lesbian websites to cite articles.
You can bang your head against that wall all you want, but the fact still remains that Hillarycare wasn't around until November 1993.
“How can Perry support Hillarycare in April 2003 when Hillarycare was non-existent until November 2003?”
For me, it’s a matter of commending HILLARY - it shows poor judgment. He should have known a controlling, socialist like Hillary would not do us any good.
Again, your efforts are worthy, Perry concluded “

Shouldn’t Perry have known that Hillary’s efforts would NEVER be worthy?
Or maybe Perry was just kissing up?
But having said that, Perry is not at the bottom of my list, as he has some good qualities, but Perry supporters seem blind to his troublesome flaws. They need to research further, and compare all of the candidates, so they do the best job when they vote in the PRIMARIES!
And that's a legitimate issue, just as him supporting Gore a quarter of a century ago. But I personally think it was a formal letter based on Perry's position as Ag Commissioner that would have been written regardless of who was heading up the task force.
I just have issues with people on here saying that by writing that letter he supported Hillarycare, when the timeline proves otherwise. Or, saying Perry was Gore's campaign manager. Or, saying that Perry's gay.
According to many on here, all the Repbulican candidates are RINOs, so why bother voting? Naw, let’s all stay home, and let obama have a second term. This is what will happen if the naysayers on here have their way. We aren’t going to get a perfect candidate - and, that includes Sarah Palin if she decides to run. We’re all mere humans who have made our fair share of mistakes over the years, but, I for one, will be danged if I’ll sit back and allow zero to win another 4 years.
Perry may not be perfect, but he’s still light years ahead of the commie-in-chief now squatting at the WH.
Everybody was already aware of what Hillary care would consist of since her and Bill had been talking it throughout their campaign. When she took charge of the project it was to execute the plan. It's clumsy doomed roll out that you refer to when you say ‘November’.
But I assume you already knew that...
Keep repeating it though if it makes you feel better.
Apparently Perry made sure that illegals could have access to taxpayer funded tuition.

What sort of beast is this? It looks very much like a yak. Rhinos like mud holes, not snow.
It would seem easy enough to punk out the system (for us rednecks) by claiming we’re undocumented Canadians. Who’s going to bother to prove otherwise?
It’s always such a thrill every four years to watch our “Conservatives” toss Reagan under the bus when folks object to someone who meets the classic definition of a RINO.

...............”Several months after a harrowingly bumpy ride back to Lhasa and then Beijing, the researchers realized the significance of their discovery: It was a new species of rhinoceros that had developed cold-hardy attributes at least a million years before the ice age got underway. The rhino, about 10% lighter than its ice age descendant, had a hairy body and a flattened horn useful for sweeping away snow to get at vegetation.
The team also found other creatures blue sheep, snow leopards and Tibetan antelope that had acquired similarly snow-ready qualities. Perhaps this part of Tibet had been a specialized breeding ground for cold-tolerant animals that were able to thrive and spread once the big freeze hit. It will take more digging to find out.
“This is just the first shot across the bow in terms of possible evidence of preadaptations to cold climates,” said Donald Prothero, a mammalian paleontologist at Occidental College. “It’s possible that quite a few more of these major ice age groups will turn out to be from Tibet. We’ll see when they get more specimens.” [end]
You are not helping us beat Obama one bit and your candidate won't join the race either. So do something useful with that talent and find a candidate to support.
You manage to make it seem like Perry is an advocate of what Obama care is going to be. Perhaps you missed his plain statement that if he is elected, his first act would be an Executive Order to abolish Obama Care. That's one reason why the Left is so afraid of him and why they will continue to provide you with your "talking points".
Please take a deep breath and tell us who you support for President and why - it would make for a much more interesting conversation. Else you are nothing but left-wing shills who seem intent in keeping Obama and his policies in the White House via creating a rift in the conservatives.
The proper way to control the border is to patrol the border.
It is the duty of the Federal government, not the State of Texas, to protect the border with other Nations. We Texans have 2/3 of the border with Mexico: 1200 miles. Our border is not dry land and straight lines on a map, as it is in most of Arizona, New Mexico and California. It is a river that winds back and forth.
Our Nation is a Constitutional government, built on inalienable rights that are endowed by God on individuals, not the government. Taking private land and destroying the rightful and productive use of private property for an ineffective fenestrated wall is not Constitutional.
Nevertheless, in order to make up for the failings of the Federal government, Texas has budgeted more than $150 million dollars of our State tax money for the next two years (and similar amounts at least since 2005) for border control, including the Governor’s Texas Ranger Recon team, the Sheriffs Coalition, State guards and dedicated DPS personnel and helicopters. In addition, the Governor has spent money from his office budget to supplement enforcement. We also spend much more on local County and city law enforcement efforts to block entry and to prevent illegal aliens from moving through the State. We spend a total that’s greater than these funds on prisons and courts to jail the illegal aliens who break laws after the Federal government did not do its job.
The Federal government should be protecting us from illegal crossings at the river, not several miles in. The incursions by coyotes and their customers, the armed and armored drug cartels and “other than Mexicans” should be met with armed troops and border patrols who are empowered by Federal law to carry out a mission to enforce border control. Increase air surveillance and increase border patrol personnel, but dont destroy our citizens liberty for a semblance of security.
How far will you go to infringe on the right to liberty and property of Texans, even if it kills farming and ranching on private property in South Texas? Where there is a wall in place, its perforated with open gates or gaps with no gates. It can be breached with a 14 foot ladder and/or a truck. It divides private property, cuts off homes from the rest of Texas, and cuts off cattle and farmers from rightfully accessing the Rio Grande. (That reminds me of Reagan’s “Tear down that wall.”)
That letter is appropriate. Perry was advocating for Texans. It would have done no good to be silent and would have been worse to be confrontational.
