GOP wants White House papers on loan to failed solar company
The Hill ^ | 9/2/11 | Ben Geman

Posted on 09/02/2011 4:29:24 PM PDT by Nachum

House Republicans are demanding White House paperwork related to a $535 million loan guarantee to a solar company that shut down this week. The Republicans are probing the White House role in the 2009 federal loan guarantee to Solyndra Inc., a California solar panel manufacturing company that ceased operations and is filing for bankruptcy, resulting in 1,100 layoffs. The shutdown is a bit of an embarrassment for the administration, as the company was the first selected to receive the loan guarantee under a stimulus-backed renewable energy program.

Yea right. Good luck getting anything out of this the “most transparent” WH ever. Anything incriminating is loooong gone and now the big stall will occur while the GOP waits for whatever scraps of paper remain.

I want the GOP response to 0bama’s “jobs” speech to be broadcast from behind the closed chain link fence around Solyndra.

This one is a bit closer to the Obama campaign, though. George Kaiser, one of the "investors" who arranged this big loan from the stimulus, was also a big fundraiser for Obama during his 2008 Pres__ential campaign.

Green energy like this is obviously fraudulent, and obviously can't compete without massive subsidies from the taxpayers. However, in this particular case, one of Obama's campaign financiers might have gotten caught with his hand in the stimulus cookie jar. This could get interesting.

From the article:

“”“These are merit-based decisions made by career staffers at the Department of Energy and the process for this particular loan guarantee began under President George W. Bush. Every project that receives financing through the Energy Departments goes through a rigorous financial, legal and technical review process,” said White House spokesman Eric Schultz in a statement Friday.

“As the Department of Energy has made clear, they have always recognized that not every one of the innovative companies helped would succeed, but we can’t stop investing in game-changing technologies that are key to America’s leadership in the global economy,” he said.”””

Career staffers? Began under GWB? Not everyone would succeed? Can’t stop investing?

They see nothing wrong with any of this? I read this morning that Kaiser’s donation to obozo’s campaign was $53,500 - and the loan just happened to be $535,000,000... What? They have a fee schedule to follow?

Wow, I clicked through and actually read the whole article (I do that sometimes).

I was surprised to learn that the official story out of the White Hut is that this is Bush's fault.

Is there anything that this administration can't blame on George W. Bush?

Was it a union plant? Somebody needs to keep an evil eye on that bankruptcy...Obama has a way with bankruptcies that come out as a win/win for his union buddies.

A quote by JFK at the end of the above article states:

“Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life.”

Dems revere JFK and MLK but pay absolutely no attention to the meaning of their words.

“I want the GOP response to 0bama’s “jobs” speech to be broadcast from behind the closed chain link fence around Solyndra.”

I admit to shamelessly stealing this idea from Charles Krauthammer; if Boehner weren’t brain-dead, he’d have said “fine, we anxiuosly await the revelation”. THEN moved the Republican debate on Wed. to after the joint session.

Assuming all our candidates are not also brain-dead, we’d have had a couple hours with the whole panel of candidates taking shots at what they just heard. As it is, the Republicans will get a few minutes, one designated sucker (I mean spokesman) after the Obamathon, none of which will be heard as the audience changes channels to the Green Bay NFL opener.

Yet that same JFK enacted collective bargaining for Federal employees, and was therefore a hypocrite.

Thanks Nachum.

The Demwit criminals are like deer in the headlights for a change.

And besides the fairy from Massachusetts, no one will stick up for their co-partisan in the Off-White House — because they know he’s a loser, and furthermore he has shown he’ll throw *anyone* under a bus, even if it involves holding a pillow over some poor old woman’s face until she suffocates.
