In a highly unusual maneuver, President Obamas 30 minute flight to the Presidential mountain retreat at Camp David this afternoon was diverted to an undisclosed landing near Frederick, Maryland and a motorcade assembled to drive him to the nearby site. White House press secretary Jay Carney tells ABC News a bad weather call was made before the President and his younger daughter Sasha even boarded the aircraft. Carney says they have now arrived safely at Camp David. It remains unexplained why the President would be allowed to board Marine One knowing that the landing site on the mountain was experiencing weather making a landing difficult.

They were probably shooting campaign commercials and needed a few more takes of him boarding the helicopter.
My guess is that they detoured to pick up someone who will be going to Camp David with Bambi - they just didn’t want the press to see who it was. Why else would there be a motorcade that just happened to be waiting some 40 miles away from the White House?
But of course, the amazingly incurious media will just accept this story and not ask why everyone else in the DC area had a beautiful sunny afternoon but a Marine helicopter couldn’t handle a 30 minute flight.
Things that make you go hmmmmm!
