Even as Texas Gov. Rick Perry moves into the lead as Republican voters preferred presidential candidate, a Fox News poll released Thursday shows that voters are more likely to view him as too extreme than former frontrunner Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney. In addition, most American voters -- including a majority of Republicans -- think former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin should stay out of the presidential race.
Perry receives the support of 26 percent of GOP primary voters in the new poll. Thats up from 13 percent in early August and enough to edge out Romney as frontrunner. Currently Romney captures 18 percent, down from 21 percent (August 7-9).
No other candidate garners double-digit support.
Palin receives 8 percent and Texas Rep. Ron Paul comes in at 7 percent. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann captures the backing of 4 percent, down from a high of 11 percent in late June. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and businessman Herman Cain also garner 4 percent each. Another 4 percent support former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, even though he has said he is not running and his name wasnt included in the question. Giuliani and Palin are unannounced.

When voters are asked to pick just among the announced candidates, Perrys receives the support of 29 percent of GOP primary voters, followed by Romney at 22 percent, and Bachmann and Paul both at 8 percent. Romneys support has dropped 4 percentage points and Bachmanns has dropped 5 points since the August 7-9 Fox News Poll, which was conducted before Perry officially announced his candidacy on August 13.

Interesting poll.
How can a RINO be too extreme ??
My crystal ball says Palin is the nominee and Perry is on the VP list, but doesn’t make the cut.
Yup. Let the stoopid media pick the candidates, as ususal. What a bunch of bs.
My magic 8-ball tells me she isn’t going to run.
At the end of the long title, I’d change it to “RINOs Say Palin Should Stay Out of The Race”.
Hey everyone, you can see “The Undefeated” starting today, on Dish Network and other providers. Saw it tonight. It was awesome.
interesting pairings...
Perry/Guiliani? Guiliani will be 75 in 2020, leaving the path for another....Perry/Christie?
Interesting...

If we let the media pick the Republican nominee every year where there isn’t a Republican incumbent, let’s see:
It would have been McCain in 2000. It would have been Giuliani in 2008.
After Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina it’s for awhile all blue for Romney. Pray that those states don’t even approach being a leveler against Romney. The RINOs are doing that “it’s HIS turn” thing again, aren’t they?
I’d go with that. I haven’t really thought of a vp yet. Maybe Nominee Palin has someone in mind.
I’d like her to pick Bolton as VP.
If we didn’t need our Governor Walker so much here in WI, he’d be a great VP.

Several comments on this thread of the article if anyone is interested.
I have been very critical of all polling and particularly Fox News for years. I am on record here long before I ever heard of Sarah Palin, critiquing Fox News polls as well as the rest.
Fox news has a terrible track record with their polling, whether it`s Opinion Dynamics out of Manchester NH or other pollsters they have used.
Nobody else has Gov Palin as low as 8%, it`s a total lie!
Fox News Opinion Dynamics last poll prior to the 2004 election, had Kerry up with a pretty good margin. CNN, NBC etc etc all trumpeted the Fox News Poll from the rooftops.
Turns out they polled on Halloween weekend while parents,Republicans/voters were either out tricker treating or preparing to.
Fox had the pollster on after the election looking sheepish. He said we thought the poll suspicious but released it anyway. He said in hind site was probably not a good idea to poll over Halloween.
They tried to throw the election to Kerry, as simple as that.
Brit Hume once said of their polling, it`s not done by a bunch of Republicans, he was not kidding.
“National Review: Palin Will Blast Compromised Political Class in Iowa”
FOX News polls are usually crap for divining anything useful. Out of a random sample of 911 registered voters they were able to tell Perry is too extreme and Palin should stay out. I don’t buy it from these guys even if it is true. They have no track record for knowing anything.
Whoever she chooses, it will be someone like Bolton, unexpected and certainly not a RINO MSM darling.

I truly hope that you do, either way.
I say, Run Sarah, Run!
