Doesn't sound like a winning message when a country has near 10% unemployment. Voters want to hear about job creation, not bashing of the job creators.
Just curious, what is the source of their disappointment? Did they expect him to be more liberal? Give more free money to blacks? Or, did they not understand what kind of change he wanted to implement (change capitalism into socialism with a sprinkle of marxism).
