These guys were all kicked upstairs because they know too much.
You squeeze the “stuff” out of the little guys so that they decide to save their own hides and provide evidence to skewer those above.

Word is that a much larger volume of guns was going from Muzzie baddies like Hamas, Hez et al.
Sounds nuts, sure, but there was real potential for synergy; the Mexies control the routes in/out of the USA for money and people, while the Muzzies have lots of weapons —there was a natural confluence of interests, there.
The word is that the Obama Admin did know about it and did nothing —the arrangement would aid the crisis that they saw themselves as needing.
So this scandal is becoming truly huge.
There is an acronym in TX state gov't. FUMU, meaning Fxxx up, move up.
They both took similar oaths, but the difference in patriotism between the military and civil servants (bizarre phrase, that) is astounding.
Many miiltary serve honorably even if it means, not only their career ending prematurely, but their very life ending prematurely. The number bought off with the gilded cage of future pensions has grown substantially, but the numbers that are still willing to make sacrifices for the nation remain substantial.
Put a civil servant in a position where they could make a real difference for the nation by foregoing their pensions and acting honorably, come what may, and few will do a single damned thing except what this guy describes. I, frankly, could not live with myself.

Actually, Melson was the acting Director of BATFE, this is his boss reassigning him. Which kikcs everything up a level, at least--and there aren't too many levels left in the food chain, there.
Imho, if Holder has been speaking to this issue under oath, they probably have him cold on perjury, but they're looking for bigger fish to fry.
An optimist would say break this wide open in the Fall, get both houses, and impeach the usurper. Heads should roll all the way down the pile, but I doubt it will end up that way.
How about breaking it wide open next summer? Especially if Issa can connect the dots to Bambi.
Maybe they will, but I wouldn’t give too much time for key people to have car wrecks, home fires, ‘operational accidents’, Ft. Marcy Park episodes, and the like. The trail could get mighty cold and quiet if they wait too long.
