Fox News Poll: Perry Overtakes Romney as Top GOP 2012 Pick; Most Say Palin Should Stay Out of Race By Dana Blanton September 01, 2011 | Even as Texas Gov. Rick Perry moves into the lead as Republican voters preferred presidential candidate, a Fox News poll released Thursday shows that voters are more likely to view him as too extreme than former frontrunner Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney.
Even as Texas Gov. Rick Perry moves into the lead as Republican voters preferred presidential candidate, a Fox News poll released Thursday shows that voters are more likely to view him as too extreme than former frontrunner Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney.
In addition, most American voters -- including a majority of Republicans -- think former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin should stay out of the presidential race. Perry receives the support of 26 percent of GOP primary voters in the new poll. Thats up from 13 percent in early August and enough to edge out Romney as frontrunner. Currently Romney captures 18 percent, down from 21 percent (August 7-9).
No other candidate garners double-digit support.
Palin receives 8 percent and Texas Rep. Ron Paul comes in at 7 percent. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann captures the backing of 4 percent, down from a high of 11 percent in late June. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and businessman Herman Cain also garner 4 percent each. Another 4 percent support former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, even though he has said he is not running and his name wasnt included in the question. Giuliani and Palin are unannounced.

Great! Gotta love inflexible “ideological purity!” Yet those people will be the first to whine when the Marxist wins re-election because those with all of those “pure” thoughts stayed home or voted for a candidate that cannot win. We will spend another four years on this forum reading about how revolution and collapse are just “around the corner”.
The primaries are one thing, and the general election is another. Vote for your candidate all day in the primary. But, if you refuse to back the GOP nominee, no mater who it is, against Obama, then that is a bigger problem than Perry’s, or whomever the candidate may be, alleged policy shortfalls are. We KNOW Obama is poison for this country. Perry, or even Romney, given a conservative Congress and Senate, may actually be able to be forced to do some good. At least some of the conservative agenda would have a chance to be enacted. With Obama, none of it would, PERIOD.
I am not in favor of Amnesty in any form. But if given the choice between the Commie or Perry, I would surely vote for Perry. Are you saying you would not? Or that you would stay home? That, quite frankly, is a huge problem. Let’s flush the country because we want to take our ball and go home if we don’t get the candidate we want!
Flash mob write-in at the last minute.

May-not be an Issue if we get a conservative candidate, these career politicians are the bane of this country.
With Obama you get both. I don't think it is a given that we get your first alternative with Perry, who pushed for and got the following legislation. From Link:
Beginning in 2012, voters will be required to show a valid photo ID to cast a ballot. Gov. Rick Perry designated the legislation, which passed as Senate Bill 14, by state Sen. Troy Fraser, R-Horseshoe Bay, as an emergency item.
The bill, which passed in the special session and which Perry signed, will help prevent non-citizens (i.e., illegals) from voting and reduce vote fraud. Perry is not the perfect candidate by far, but he's considerably better than Obama, who is spending 1.6 times the US government's annual revenue each year that he has been president.
DJ McWowwowapowpow will make sure it goes on and on and on.There is someone new to blame everyday for bad Palin polls and the fact it sure looks like she is not running and just making some money giving speeches; it is ridiculous.
Ping me to get on or off this ping list. They will be announcing soon!
I am worried, the day is almost over in ~ 10 minutes and still no announcement... you think something went wrong???
Stevens and Jetson will announce soon. George had problems with Mr. Spacely and Stevens ran off with a witch. It is not they’re fault though. They have a plan; when Elroy takes over the reins from Judy but the media reported it was all Rosie’s fault.
Darren Joseph Stevens born Jan.18,1949
George Zeblious Jetson born March 17,3012
Jetson, the neoneoconservative, does have some futuristic ideas. But that sorass billionaire tycoon Spacely pulls his strings.
I'm holding out for Zippy The Pinhead.
Stevens and Jetson will announce and win. Dr. Bombay and Uncle Arthur will carry they’re win you just wait and see.
Why are you telling Polybius that they’re days are numbered?I think the reference you use is to SQUID which is really a troll that used the term neocon therefore giving them away to they’re troll post history. So why did you make this look like Mister Robinson was going to ban Perry supporters or anyone that does not tow you’re Palin only line of thinking? See post 61.

Oh yeah? I'm sure she's going to "put up" or "shut up" because "rjeffries" says she needs to. (I wish I could ping Todd Palin to your comment.)
Uh huh. Yessirree, rjeffries. Lets all be good little obedient peons and vote for the person whom those in the media tell us to vote for. We must remember to metaphorically "eat our peas" and we'll be rewarded with a nice, phony, non-conservative, reach-across-the-aisle, slick politician.
Take it up with the boss...
You’re the one publically threatening; it’s your fly (flies) to try to swat but Polybius is a butterfly.Do you want all but Palinista’s banned? This forum would be pretty boring and nothing but huge Palin graphics everywhere.
Polybius amd Psycho-Freep are among the very worst of the PDS trolls. The day they ride the lightning will be a great day for FR!
