Sarah Palin’s Gift
New York the Sun ^ | 08/31/11 | Editorial

In our long newspaper life, we have covered a lot of brands of conservative — paleo-conservatism, neo-conservatism, supply-side-conservatism, Christian-conservatism, social conservatism, libertarian conservatism, compassionate conservatism. Even as we've been more enthusiastic about some than others, all of them have made important contributions. At the end of the day, though, we have yet to sense a more open and civil way for resolving our differences than in the idea of repairing for guidance to the constitutional contract that established our republic.

This is what we sometimes call Sarah Palin’s gift to the GOP. By branding as her own the phrase constitutional conservatism, the former governor of Alaska has opened up an approach to a host of issues facing our country in a way that pays homage to our deepest and noblest traditions. And in ways that may yet lead to adjustments by both sides, on questions as diverse as, say, immigration, monetary policy, gay marriage, the deficit, the war, education, regulation, and crime, to name but a few of the issues on which the country is divided and on which the constitution contains language that may steer us to tranquil shores.

How about this list from the internet;

1. A balanced budget Amendment.

2. Repeal of the 16th Amendment.

3. An original language or original intent amendment that makes prevents “living document”/ “general welfare” concepts and perversion of the Republic.

4. An amendment that abolishes the Fed or returns to a base with precious metals. The dollar must be founded on a gold standard.

5. An amendment that explicitly makes the commerce clause (in Article I Section 8) more restrictive and in line with its original intent.

6. Repeal of the 17th Amendment, Senators appointed by state legislatures.

A nice article that recognizes how much Sarah Palin has lead on the issues of the day. She usually is the first out of the box. Palin leads, the me-too candidates follow.

It's amazing the number of declared candidates invoking her policies --- almost citing her word for word --- from her Facebook entries.

She really needs to announce soon, if only to lay claim to her policies and her ideas!

Yep, and pretending they're gutsy and talking tough.

Sheeesh. Governor Palin's been doing the heavy lifting and calling down and calling out the Marxist all along, all by herself, and he responded to HER!

Announce Sarah, Announce!

The lag time is an issue, because of the sheer number of names on the list. It usually takes me about two minutes to do a PING, and then I usually get a Proxy error at the end of the process.

“She really needs to announce soon, if only to lay claim to her policies and her ideas!”

I keep getting impressed over and over how much how deeply we need Sarah Palin to be our nominee and President. And even more how critical it is that we need MORE like DeMint, Lee of UT, and others in the senate. I do hope that we can not only get Sarah Palin in the Presidency, but give her a supporting cast in Congress to do the work that is needed.

May God have mercy on us...
