EXCERPT

In agreeing to Boehner's schedule, Obama's address will compete with the opening game of the National Football League season — a conflict the White House wanted to avoid.

“This was all political theater, a side show planned by Obama’s handlers to make the GOP look petulant.”

Petulant/ass-kissy. I’ll take petulant.

“MSM will say “Look how Obama always bends over backward to accommodate the Republicans.””

Yes, but when he does, his rectum contracts. Must make it mighty crowded for all those poor MSM slugs.

I can just hear BHO's speech now (start FDR voice):

"Yesterday, September 7, 2011, a date which will live in infamy,
the President of the United States was stupidly and bitterly attacked
by evil and unfair forces of the Empire of Teabag. . . ."

Will they mention the THIRTY dead SEALs due to “Photo Op” Hussein’s loose lips?

oh, after this PR disaster, if O goes off the “J O B S” agenda, he’ll appear the bigger fool. I don’t see the country (if not the media) up for his childish retorts to any political opponents when the topic otherwise is J O B S.

He got away with it twice, to the SCOTUS at his SOTU and to Paul Ryan. I think tempers are a LOT shorter now, and his political capital as depleted as the national treasury.

He may, at age 50, have to learn to speak and act as an adult. We’ll see.

I’ll bet author JIM KUHNHENN or his editor was spitting nails when they wrote that headline.

‘I HATE re-runs!’

Was sort of saying that by July 2009: -
“the president and his shouting, strident speeches has been on T.V. every day, all day, hollerin’ at us, sounding like a dictator. It’s so unpresidential.”

That was part of my letter to my newspaper’s editor - 7-09! They printed it but left out ‘dictator.’
L O L!

IF (big IF) this scenario of throwing O under the bus and recruiting Hillary came to pass, Colin would be a clever choice for the Dems. I wonder if Alma is still opposed to his running for/holding a high-visibility office?

Colin would, as a practical matter, offset the likely loss of a substantial segment of the black vote. He could bring in enough ‘moderates’ and “independents.’

Interesting at least to think about, and after all, he and HRC share that SoS background, if little else.

You had posted those two pictures side by side, as I recall...amazing to find that exact same arrogant posture...

You do good stuff, potlatch!

On a purely visceral level, I like this turnaround very much.

But on a more dispassionate and analytical level, I have to wonder if this move does not make President Obama appear magnanimous--or, at least, if it does not erase the stain of his previous actions in this regard--which could help him in 2012 among independent voters.

Actually this may work out well for O, if as he says he will do it before the game, and arrives on time. He might get a larger audience this way.

This evening I heard a very interesting speech and history lesson on the economic influence of tariff policy on our national welfare by GOP candidate Buddy Wilmer. He is the former governor of Louisiana and a former Congressman, and a businessman who has been to China and seen how they are winning the economic battle with us. I wish they had allowed him in the Republican debate.

I goofed. I misheard the name. It is Buddy Roemer. Here is a press announcement of his candidacy, and plans to avoid Wall Street money.

It would be great if we had a true leader that “we the people” would be glad to drop everything to hear what he has to say.
People might even tune out footiball to listen if they really believed that Obama was going to lead us out of the abyss.

I heard that interview, too. I am all for letting in as many candidates as possible to expand the topics of discussion. Maybe one of the more prominent candidates will pick up Roemer’s issues as the line up narrows. They can’t discuss the debt and our vulnerability without talking about China.

(my boy, Jimmy, might not make that cut of participants)

Glad someone else has noticed how offensive and pretentious that is. He looks like a bobble-head — or, in his case, a babble-head.
