Boehner Fires Back at Obama Over Scheduling of Jobs Speech (Suggests NFL Kickoff night LOL)
National Journal ^ | 8/31/2011 | George E. Condon Jr.

But if they accept Boehner’s suggestion of Thursday night, they will find the president pitted against a ratings behemoth much tougher to overwhelm than any candidates’ debate—the kickoff of the NFL season, with the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers taking on the New Orleans Saints at 8:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NBC.

OUTSTANDING! Exactly what needed to happen.

Slapped him down as he was trying to upstage the Republican debate.

THE MAN WHO DESPISES AMERICA

OBAMA ADMIN INFILTRATED (as in they invited them in) BY MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD

Here's a link to the letter the speaker wrote to the President suggesting Thursday night, opening of the NFL season.

My suggestion: push the debate back until the end of Obama’s speech. Then the coverage will be what the Republican candidates said about it, not the speech itself.

Nah. You KNOW that what O will do then is be late starting the speech, and then talk for hours about nothing so as to push the debate too late for people to watch. Having the speech be the day before would be better.

Or tell him to have his speech 1/2 hour before the game starts, knowing that if he goes over, the network and his audience will cut away to the game.

They can always put Obama on during halftime Maybe to attract an audience they can have Janet Jackson performing in the background complete with wardrobe malfunction. Then even I might tune in.

As I posted on another threadf.

Boehner blew it!

He should have said that the 7th was a no-go because of the debate....."HOWEVER, since your speech Mr. President, is of such import to Americans, myself and Senator McConnell suggest that we not wait until the 7th. Let's have your speech on Tuesday, the 6th at 8PM. The Senator and I assure you that even though Congress is not scheduled to re-convene until Wednesday, we will have the Republican members of BOTH houses in their seats and ready to hear you then. The American people deserve no less. I'm sure that Senator Reid and Representative Pelosi feel as strongly about the importance of this speech as we and you do, Mr. President, and will be able to have the Democratic members of Congress attend also."

By saying this, Boner could have shifted EVERYTHING onto the RATS and Zero as well as giving the Rep. candidates 24 hours to prepare a proper lambasting of Zer0's speech.

Then he'll do like he always does, take the woman's prerogative, and be late... very, very late.

And talk forever...

The debate would start at 2 AM.

Mark Levin said that his source is saying that Obama will give his speech on September 7th at 8PM EST, but that it will be from the Oval Office.

(But he also said that he could not confirm it yet...)

Well, perhaps the miserable commie can deliver the speech in the afternoon. No one gives a damn about what he says anyway.

I mean geez, the jackball spent 9 days golfing and living with the rich and beautiful, and NOW he wants to pretend he gives a flyin’ flip about jobs?

Laughable.

Just another attempt to peg the Congress as a do-nothing Congress and to paint the Republicans as the party of “no.” Boehner did the best thing in what was an attempt to paint him into a corner.

Boehner did not blow it. His response was brilliant. Give respect where it is due.

Not really. The liberals control the questions at all of the debates.

You make a good point. If it is a "jobs" speech, his target audience will be at home!!
