Here’s a major difference:
Wyatt Earp knew he had the law behind him and the government behind the law.
Today, anyone apprehended threatening or shooting Holder’s People may have the law behind him, but the government will be on the other side.

Kel Tec doesn’t have a top flight reputation for reliability (although it’s better than a lot of firearm companies), but that shotgun really grabs me. If it turns out to be dependable and not hideously expensive I’ll probably buy one. Kel Tec deserves credit for making interesting guns—some nice small pistols, pistol caliber carbines, and the 30 round .22 Magnum pistol come to mind and especially their new shotgun.
Shooting to wound someone is simply asking them to take all your assets and property. Shoot to kill. Shoot until dead. Do not leave survivors (aka plaintiffs)
I have seen one that fits nicely along the outside of the thigh. Loose pants and only a sharp eye can pick it out.
I guess it is sadly a legitimate concern.
Probably the most practical gun for dealing with large number of wild acting criminals would be one of the Glock or similar guns which now come with really hi capacity mags and are immediately ready for shooting as soon as the gun is in your hand.
Since I can’t afford a new one right now, I would probably wear my old Browning Hi-Power. Although it protrudes a bit, I would have one of the Mec-Gar 20 round mags in it.
Cocked and locked it would be nearly as quick despite having a small safety lever. That would be 21 shots fast in a gun which is easy to hit with.
I like it! But, the inside the waistband holster for it is a bit awkward and uncomfortable at times.
Costner doesn’t have his scatter gun cocked in the pic above.
I can’t believe they picked the Kevin Costner Earp over the Kurt Russell Earp!
I guess I misinterpreted the post. I was thinking about those mobs that attack people in their cars or on the street. Someone who’s been sprayed with wasp spray or hit in the face with snake shot is not about to continue their attack.
It makes sense to not shoot a warning shot.
1. It gives a determined mob more time to attack you.
2. If a mob is coming for you, they will not be willing to let you talk them out of attacking you.
If you have a CCW, THINK about where you’re going and be prepared.
It doesn’t matter whether the mob is 5 or 50, by the time you’ve shot 3 the remainder will flee.
And as long as it makes more noise than a .22, you’re fine.
I remember reading an article about old West gunfighters by Skeeter Skelton many years ago. Skelton was actually a pretty decent historian in addition to being a great writer.
One thing which stayed with me was that there was only one who actually did kill over 40 men and that is documented as doing so.
John Wesley Hardin was the Son of a Methodist minister and a real killer.
I would bet that Frank Hamer was involved in more gunfights than any lawman who ever lived. I have read that William Fairbairne probably won more hand to hand fights than any man in modern times. He was for a while head of the British Army’s Shanghai Riot Police.

The KelTec Sub 2000 in 9mm or 49 &W make nice concealable options. They fold up to 16 inches yet use extra capacity mags like the Glock 33 rounders. Inside fifty yards they are deadly accurate and very reliable. I reccommend a Glock 17 or 22 to accompany the KelTec carbines. ... And lots of magazines. There are good ones coming in from South Korea (KCI) that can be loaded to within two of max and be stored for months on end. I carried a 9mm with Glock 22 conversion to 9mm in my moho for years. Every time I took out a 33 round mag and emptied it, it ran through the ammo without a hitch.
9 mm or 40 S&W ... tired fingers. The KelTec and Glock use the same mags (in Glock 22 or 17 configuration).
Champion Firearms has it priced at $637.00 but not in stock yet.
