Sarah Palin canceled her Saturday appearance at a tea party rally in Indianola, Iowa, a person close the former Alaska governor told The Wall Street Journal.
The person cited continual lying from event organizers at Tea Party of America, including a recent mixup over whether former U.S. Senate candidate Christine ODonnell of Delaware would also speak.
Ms. Palin is known for last-minute schedule changes that whipsaw supporters and media across the country. But the latest decision is puzzling. Ms. Palins speech at the rally was viewed as her most high-profile appearance of the summer, fueling speculation she was indeed plotting to run for the Republican presidential nomination.
Attendees were reportedly traveling from across the U.S. to attend the rally in Iowa, which holds the nations first nominating contest next year.
The former governor will now appear at a Friday event in Des Moines sponsored by the group Conservatives4Palin. It is currently scheduled for 8 p.m. at The Machine Shed Restaurant, though the location will probably have to be changed, the person close to Ms. Palin said. Ms. Palin is still scheduled to appear at a Tea Party Express tour stop Monday in New Hampshire.
Ms. Palin may still hold an event Saturday, the person said, though she has no firm plans. Its also possible she could still attend the Indianola tea party rally, the person said.
The former governors team decided to back out Tuesday night after rally organizers re-invited Ms. ODonnell to speak on stage. Organizers had booked Ms. ODonnell, who lost her 2010 bid for a U.S. Senate seat from Delaware, to speak but quickly withdrew the invitation in an effort to avoid controversy.

As you prove daily!
She's not running. 'SCUSE ME?! I'm going to announce on Labor Day. Unless somebody pisses me off or I get a cramp in my leg. |
If you want off my ping list get over it!
Sadly, it is true. My intellect is so vast, my wisdom is so great that it pains me to see drivel such as yours. But then I remind myself that if it wasn’t for great minds such as my own, the less fortunate, such as yourself for example, would be without guidance and as such, it is my duty to guide you...
That is what you were getting at, right? ;)
lol............
Sarah has been loving all the attention she’s been getting, milking it for all its worth. She has strung her devotees along as long as she possibly could, raising their hope.
However, the time is way past to fish or cut bait, and there is rapidly coming a day (if it is not here already) when she will have to quit stringing her “followers” along and admit the truth: she is not going to run.
Well, YEAH! Duh!
In your opinion.
Please explain why she should offer herself up for sacrifice while she can sit back and let the competition kick the teeth out of each other.
She has a while until the deadline to file. If she doesn’t, she doesn’t. Why is it such a problem for you all that we think she will? Please explain. Does it affect your life in some way?
>>Her movements back in April suggested to me she was only testing the water to see if she had a viable bid, which I didnt think her support was that strong outside her closed circle of supporters.
I got beaten up, textwise, by her supporters.<<
Correction, the Sarah Cultists (as opposed to supporters) squealed like stuck pigs. They do that to everyone who dares say anything they don’t wanna hear about Sarah.
The bottom line, norm, is that the last resort of the debater that has been bested is to retreat to the ad hominem attack.
"If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table."
The poll data I posted was not a Cut & Paste. That was a Google search of the very latest Palin polls.
Go to Google, search "Palin, polls" and then, in Advance Search, choose "Past month".
Ignore data at your own peril just like the O'Donnell fans ignored data at her own peril.
My warnings have nothing to do with running or not. She may very well run for her own reasons.
My warnings are that poll after poll after poll predict that, if she were the GOP nominee, she would be another Christine O'Donnell fiasco and Obama would be reelected in a landslide.
You cannot refute the supporting data so you hide behind the ad hominem attacks.
You focus on the childish drama.
I focus on defeating Obama.
You focus on posting the same drivel over and over. How does this help beat Obama? As for debating skills, get some yourself before slagging anyone else.
Poll after poll showed Reagan getting slaughtered this early too. You have yet to comprehend that any poll done this early is meaningless. Deal with it.
Or better, show me a poll this early in the running that accurately predicted the outcome of an election. There are 14 months to go. Are you thinking nothing will change in 14 months and your precious polls will be anything but a forgotten memory? Seriously?
>>I agree, nothing infuriates the left than to have Sarah soaking up all the limelight. I say more power to her!<<
Sarah is not soaking up all the limelight any more. Those days are long gone.
She is WAY back in line, if you’ll notice.
Yeah right that is why she is all over media for something she had nothing to do with. All other canidates problems are ignored.
Be careful sleeper DU Daily Kaos, troll blogger; your anti-Palin and true colors are showing. Now why would you make fun of posting a cheese cake pic of Palin when ALL YOU DO- from looking at your posting history is post with Palinista's? Do you not have steadfast conservatisrm;as you speak of it like you are making fun and NOT a conservative. Please explain youself, you tried to bait and dare me to call a mod, well I did. Let them see your posting history I am done with you.If I see you in Palin threads I will post the above quote from you so you better explain. Even though they're is primary infighting, we are all conservatives and will stand together and vote Obama OUT!
Yes, but many choose to ignore that “inconvenient truth” when to acknowledge it would mean that their preferred candidate might have some insurmountable problems when she announces.
I see the sarcasm is lost on you.
Hmmm. Let's ask Mittens about that after she craps on his Tea Party parade Monday.
Times are different now. There is a growing backlash and Palin fatigue growing daily. This will not be looked on positively. She comes across like a celebrity diva. Oops, maybe that’s because she chose the celebrity route.
That was not sarcasm. You are not as slick as you think.
