Sarah Palin Appearance at Tea Party Rally in Iowa ‘No Longer Confirmed’
WSJ ^ | August 31, 2011 | Danny Yadron

Posted on 08/31/2011 8:11:56 AM PDT by markomalley

Sarah Palin canceled her Saturday appearance at a tea party rally in Indianola, Iowa, a person close the former Alaska governor told The Wall Street Journal.

The person cited “continual lying” from event organizers at Tea Party of America, including a recent mixup over whether former U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell of Delaware would also speak.

Ms. Palin is known for last-minute schedule changes that whipsaw supporters and media across the country. But the latest decision is puzzling. Ms. Palin’s speech at the rally was viewed as her most high-profile appearance of the summer, fueling speculation she was indeed plotting to run for the Republican presidential nomination.

Attendees were reportedly traveling from across the U.S. to attend the rally in Iowa, which holds the nation’s first nominating contest next year.

The former governor will now appear at a Friday event in Des Moines sponsored by the group Conservatives4Palin. It is currently scheduled for 8 p.m. at The Machine Shed Restaurant, though the location will probably have to be changed, the person close to Ms. Palin said. Ms. Palin is still scheduled to appear at a Tea Party Express tour stop Monday in New Hampshire.

Ms. Palin may still hold an event Saturday, the person said, though she has no firm plans. It’s also possible she could still attend the Indianola tea party rally, the person said.

The former governor’s team decided to back out Tuesday night after rally organizers re-invited Ms. O’Donnell to speak on stage. Organizers had booked Ms. O’Donnell, who lost her 2010 bid for a U.S. Senate seat from Delaware, to speak but quickly withdrew the invitation in an effort to avoid controversy.

Sarah will do what SARAH will do when SARAH decides to do it. She doesn’t need for people to be using her to make a name for themselves the way these yahoos seem to be doing. This is very aggravating. A new tea party trying to get off the ground with a bunch of amateurs at the helm. Now they want to be famous. They should have left well enough alone. Whispering to the press has only caused grief to them and everybody else.

I give it five minutes before one of her self appointed campaign managers with Palin ping lists says this is not so.

Even if she is still appearing it is giving a speech, BIG DEAL. READ THE NEWS Obama is destroying this country one of his GREEN companies that got millions of stimulus is shutting down he is closing down coal plants he is so guilty in fast and furious,he spends and raises taxes. We do not have time for this Palin horse crap game.

Why so many are so easily lead disgusts me.

You can bet the other camps are taking Palin seriously. She's a huge thorn in their side they cannot take out no matter how they attempt to do so.

As fo r those who will fall along the wayside.....well there is collateral damage in all wars. But some can be revived when it matters.

It's a King of the Hill reference from like 15 years ago.

RE :"Something tells me that you are still the troll you were a couple months ago."

Something tells me you are the same 'mystery background' 12 year old 'sleeper accounter' you were a few months ago . Ever recover those missing 12 years?

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/08/palins-saturday-speech-still-on-tea-party-founder-says/

ABC News’ Sheila Marikar and Shushannah Walshe report:

Sarah Palin has not canceled her keynote speech for the Tea Party of America’s Saturday rally in Indianola, Iowa, according to the event’s organizers.

Ken Crow, the founder of the Tea Party of America, told ABC News this morning that he “hung up with [Palin’s] people five minutes ago” and “she’ll be here on Saturday.”

“Gov. Palin is a lady of her word and impeccably honest,” he added. He admitted that the organization’s encountered “a couple of errors” in planning the Sept. 3 rally.

“LOL. But everyone besides you needs to stop speculating.”

For the truly devout there is no such thing as speculation, only certainty.

If she in fact goes up against Obama they will have a choice. Overcome their pride at having been wrong for 2 years or allow Obama to be reelected. Bottom line.

Most of the naysayers here are just trolling anyway. The ones who aren’t may well have legitimate issues, concerns. Time will tell. But those that act like catty schoolgirls on the Palin threads aren’t helping anyone, least of all themselves.

I don't know you from Adam, and quite frankly I am beginning to understand why. As far as polling data this far out, it's biased towards those that are actually paying attention. Polls are skewed by the closeness one has to the occurrence. Right now more people are concerned with the economy, sports, weather and home life than to give more than just a single thought to politics. If someone is getting air time more than another i.e. Perry right now, he's likely to get the nod in polls, just because that's what people are hearing. It is that simple and why it is simple minds read into simple polls.
