The desperation in the Romney camp is heart palpitating.

>> Bachmann to tear apart Perry – to “rip his eyes out,” as she did to Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

That’s so absurd, it’s funny.

Perry is not exactly a field mouse like Pawlenty. And, for her part, Bachmann may have claws, but she also has areas of exposed underbelly, and Perry has claws too.

My guess is, it’s not going to happen as advertised, but I could be wrong.

This is the second story about Team Romney looking for Bachmann to go after Perry for them.....I understand that Perry and Bachmann are going after the same type of voters for the most part but this feeds into the notion awhile back by some that Bachmann could be a stalking Horse for Mitt in some way

Romney has been running for President for THE LAST FIVE YEARS and the best he can get is also ran status now that Rick Perry is in the race. Mitt, you’re toast. If he thinks Bachmann as an attack poodle is his path to the nomination he’s as crazy as Ron Paul.

from the article: the strategic view from inside the Romney camp ... finds that Perry is both insufficiently consistent in his conservatism but simultaneously too radically conservative.

Yea. I find this frustrating. Could the Perry-bashers, Romney and the NYT get on the same page already??!!! It's got to be one or the other! It cannot be both.

Romney is opponent #1 who needs to be defeated.

Obama is #2.

I think Perry can take them both.

Romney just needs to take a lesson from Rick Perry and stop being boring.

Anyone who flies, or has flown, military fighter aircraft makes more critical decisions in 30 seconds than Obama (or Romney) makes in a career. Other than the addled McCain, I am thinking of GHWB, GWB, Perry.

See this is what happens to loser candidates. They can’t get their message across, they can’t defend their positions, they can’t garner enthusiasm from voters for their ideas; so they hem and haw and attack the candidates. Candidates should work on their inadequacies first and only go after an opponent’s glaring flaws. Anyone can be a gnat. People want leaders, and interesting personalities. That’s just politics.

But with poll after poll showing Romney slipping into Perry’s wake...
Romney was always just a place-holder. Didn't he know that?
