AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry and Democratic challenger Bill White agree that while plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero have stirred controversy, they don't object to a local decision affirming the Islamic group's right to build it. A New York City planning commission voted this week to clear the way for a planned Islamic community center and mosque near the site of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Well that’s good to hear, South. I’m glad to hear it.
The fact that it matters so much to you 150 years later is indicative of some kind of serious issues.
You apparantly don’t understand what “truth” is.
Your governor doesn’t have the balls to do what mine has in the past eight months.
Look everybody....it’s STRETCH Armstrong!
Give up they view everything through Rick Perry colored glasses.
In your case, I was referring to your childish taunting about $20 and whatever else you were saying that I wasn’t reading. You know, the name-calling and belittling. It’s all very indicative of the liberals’ behavior he was discussing.
Not that I think you’re a liberal. I believe you’re a conservative.
Thank you.
Another Bravo moment! :>)
The fact that you have no heroic heritage to be proud of is pitiful.
If you're not reading then why the hell are you replying?
Get a grip.
I would think that you would be claiming something that Perry did made him presidential, but instead you folks run from everything he’s ever done.
Why list it all again? He wasn’t responsible for it anyway.
If he introduced it, it wasn’t really his idea. If he went to Israel and came back not understanding the benefit of a wall, it’s just a natural thing to do. If he travels down to Mexico and says he favors open borders, it wasn’t what he really meant. If he was prepared to take over 70,000 acres from Texas land owners, it was Washington’s fault. If he issued the Gardasil Executive Order, it really didn’t kill anyone that we know of, so it was okay.
DRey, your comments ultimate reflect the reality that you really don’t hold Perry accountable for much of anything.
What a resounding endorsement.
Oh dear. You’ve got him defensive now. Striking a little too close to home, maybe...
You are right about that. The Civil War was not so much about slavery as it was about State Rights. It was called in the South “The War against Northern Agression”, and it was about the States Right to determine their own laws. I personally would find it disturbing to see bloomberg trying to assert the attitudes of New York State on the Great State of Texas-in fact, it would be a fight that THEY would never survive. Perry never said he agreed with gay rights or the Mosque, he has not changed his opinion one iota....
Actually, I do. LeMay, Patton, Clark, Bradley. Men who fought real enemies. The Civil War was us spanking an unruly brat. That would be your grandpappys and such.
After McCain and Obama, I had hoped we could forgo that again this year. Instead we’re right back to the blind trying to lead the sighted. again
Well, at least you know THAT isn’t Perry’s fault. And I69 is the whole reason for the TTC.
No. I sure don’t. TTC was inflicted on him. It began in 1991 whe he was in the Agrigultural Commissioner’s office, and ended with a Bush signature. I’m not trying to win your vote for Perry. He doesn’t need it. I’m just trying to understand this issue that has everyone’s panties in a wad. Pardon me. I’ll look elsewhere for answers from here on, Doughty.
Why would he stand up to Obamacare. He has record of imposing health mandates via executive order and he’s supported a bi-national healthcare plan.
