Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a commanding lead in the 2012 GOP presidential race, and that wont likely change if tea party favorite Sarah Palin decides to run, a new CNN/ORC International poll indicates....The polls data show that, for now, Mr. Perry is the clear favorite of tea party supporters. Ms. Palin won support from 10% of voters, leaving her in third place just ahead of Mrs. Bachmann.

He wouldn’t because his ego won’t let him. He couldn’t handle Palin getting all the attention at the 2009 Gov’s Convention and stormed off stage. DRAMA!!!!
Perry/Romney.
You win all of the south, most of hte west and enough of the NE and upper midwest to have the biggest electoral landslide since Bush 1 over that idiot in the tank.....Duk something or other.
note: I am not supporting this ticket, just pointing out a likely scenario.
For starters, because Palin’s record [though much shorter] is much more accomplished, substantitive and solid. The Alaskan Constitution gives more responsibility and power to the governor of that state. The Alaska governor’s veto can only be overriden by a 3/4 majority and is the CiC of the Alaska National Guard which is the first line of defense for our national security. That governor requires a higher security clearance than any other. Even though her term was cut short, she fulfilled every campaign promise she made and had an 88% approval rating.
Note, that in this last session of the Texas legislature, Perry pushed very hard for an anti-sanctuary city law but it was defeated in both houses.
So what excuse do you have for this?
More illegals finding their way to Texas. Must be that in-state tuition!
Oh wait...
Number of illegal immigrants getting in-state tuition for Texas colleges rises
I can not believe any freeper would dismiss illegal immigration as not being important.Outside of Obamacare, it is THE most important issue facing this country today.
Exactly right. And, Alaska’s governor has to actually work with the legislature. As shown on FR, Perry can just sign executive order one after another with little collaboration with the legislature- even when they’re in the same party.
Not drama, but reality. Sarah Palin can’t even come close to him in experience and results. Keep believing all you want, but not all of us are enamored of her 1/2 terms resume.
I think it is fine for individuals to go wherever they want for medical care as long as the taxpayers are not forced to pay for it.
99% of Perry supporters also like Sarah quite a bit. Most of the time when you folks think others are attacking her, they are really attacking her supporters.
If she gets in, GREAT! Perry supporters will be a hell of a lot happier if she gets in than you will be if she doesn’t.
Guaranteed.
And not all of us are enamored with Bush 2.0. But have fun with the vetting process! At least Palin has been completely vetted in the past 3 years. Your boy will go through that gauntlet in 18 months. And if the reaction here on FR is any indication, you’d better double the Valium.
Palin signed into law the bill that allowed taxpayer money to be wasted on frivolous lawsuits.
It’s not exactly a glowing example of Sarah’s judgement, and something that I’m sure the Dems will use to hammer her over the head with. She agreed with the bill that led to her quitting. Bad decision.
Not really. I’ve personally said all along she won’t get in. So if she doesn’t I’m fine. I’m prepared either way and know my voting path. If she doesn’t get in, I will have a blast watching all you Perry folks fight over her endorsement like dogs over a bone. Either way, it will be fun!
If Perry or Romney get in then we simply have yet more Rhinos like McCain....I will not vote for another Rhino again...we have opportunity to vote for conservatives...and solid ones...I don’t understand why people are supporting Rhinos....
I’m not actually a “Perry folk.” I am a free agent and see only two serious possibilities to defeat Obama. My tagline displays that.
For some conservatives, she did die on the McLame hill, and she passed on making up for it by not calling out McLame last month when he was railing against the Tea Party from the floor of the Senate. She could have stood up for the Tea Party by calling out McLame; instead, she stood silent, and some of us noticed her silence.
She talks about ridding the GOP from the establishment, yet she can’t separate herself from Mr.DC RINO himself.
He’s been vetted. You just aren’t aware of it. That last gubernatorial election was rough. He won.
SP is seen as a quitter by those who aren’t in her cheer leading corner. They see a sellout for $$$$$$$ due to the books, reality tv shows, Paris Hilton route.
When you compare the two on their actual accomplishments in governing there is none. She has not only quit the governorship she also left her position on the Oil and Gas commission.
This polling is consistent with other polling about where she stands.
That sounds like Perry sitting up companies on his border for cheap labor from the other side.
Where was Perry when McCain of the lame ran?
That's exactly right.
These points have been addressed time and again...that’s old stuff.... plenty of politicians leave their posts to run for other offices ...or even not run at all. Get real!
Palin understands the Islamic threat very well ....as do some other conservatives. Perry invites Muslims...enables and recruites, as well as participates with them. It doesn’t matter what sect they are they ALL follow Mohammeds teachings and the Koran.
