I earned these 'entitlements'
I believe that most citizens do not understand what a federal entitlement program is. There are earned entitlements versus a special government entitlement that is given to an individual who needs assistance that is mandated by law.
What is a government entitlement? Note below that some are free and some are not! Why the government is lumping these programs together is beyond me: Only Congress would think this was a proper thing to do. How can a program like military retirement be linked with food stamps? The programs I am associated with should never be diminished by the federal government because they are either paid for by me and my wife or I have earned them. Most citizens believe all the federal entitlements are giveaway social programs and that is not true.

It could actually come in two years. Countries sometimes go under when their debt to GDP ratio is greater than 90%. We are at about 70% now and adding almost 10% a year. All countries go under when it goes above 125% so I give it a max of six years.
So did I, and I'm sick and tired of being told on FR that I shouldn't get the benefits I PAID FOR because the gov't was dishonest. I still paid! We pay a monthly premium for Medicare, too, like anyone else who has health insurance pays a premium. Some people use more than they paid, some people less. I've paid $6,000. in Medicare premiums just out of my SS, no other coverage, in the last 5 years and not used a penny of it. Some have paid that much and used more than that. Just like other health insurance. But we should not have this insurance we pay for twice because we're no longer working?
I sometimes think the death panels will be a success with support from people on FR.
Aren’t you clever.
I see you joined FR 3 weeks ago.
Just to abuse old people?
Or some other reason?
Nah, that’s just a perk.
I joined because I like ranting about politics on the Internet, it’s a peaceful outlet for expressing my outrage at the disastrous state of my once-free country.
Howabout yourself?
Being that you are a pre-1992 Federale lifer you put jackshyte into your Federale pension therefore it will be cut accordingly same as SS will be... shared sacrifice we are broke. Too much funny money created and printed.
Yes I forgot I paid almost $100.00 a month and also $125. for co-pay insurance.
Plus we were robbed if we bought retirement insurance all those years it would have been a better plan.
Then question the SSI’s math, not mine.... This amount is on their statement to me....
“We dont have 10 years; we may not even have 5. Whatever slack we had in the system has been spent by Obama or handed over to the international banking system.”
Cloward and Piven must be extremely joyful to see the fruits of their plan.

Wait 'til they find out that there will be no money to support useless, Marxist academics in the aftermath.
The irony of Cloward/Piven is that it proves why welfare states can't work.
“Its an acknowledgement of the futility of breaking through that many years of indoctrination.”
This from the person that thinks social security is a contract? Is this bizarro world?
Let me check my list:
"conservatives" arguing to compel allegedly free men to participate in a Marxist redistributionist Ponzi scheme, check
Yep, it's bizarro world.
Your collectivist mindset, as indicated in your post, will be more of a foundation for death panels than the realists on this thread.
“Wait ‘til they find out that there will be no money to support useless, Marxist academics in the aftermath.”
That is the plan. Completely overwhelm the system and cause it to crash, then swoop in to take all aspects of our lives over......all the while, blame the free market and capitalism.
Unfortunately for them, they don’t believe in guns. As soon as the law no longer protects them it will be open season.
True, they don’t believe in private ownership of guns, but believe me they wholeheartedly believe in government guns. Without them, they have no ability to enforce any of their mandates.
I doubt many of those government guns will stay on the job during a real crisis where people shoot back. They will go home to their families in the hopes of defending them just like everyone else will. As far as the military goes... I believe they will be on our side when push comes to shove. If not we will make Afghanistan seem like kindergarten training.
Yet we see stories every day on FR where the police kick doors down at incorrect addresses and shot family pets. Never underestimate the police state....
Sure, easy stationary targets they can hit. People who fight back? Their track record ain’t so good on that. You see more and more stories already... cops getting “randomly” popped out of nowhere, federal agents turning up dead out in the boondocks - and this hasn’t even gotten warmed up yet, the desperation level is still fairly low.
If everyone is on their own, buying private insurance, then there's no threat of death panels. Blue Cross / Blue Shield isn't going to come to your bedside with the needle just to get you off the rolls.
Once you put the government in charge ... well, governments that have power over everything have this amazingly reliable tendency to put troublesome people to death.
Obamacare is the path to death panels, but even more so when you sweeten the pot by adding entitlements on top of it. You're almost making it cost effective for the government to cap you.
Yep, then add to that the cheering of some folks because offing others will ensure their continued feeding at the trough and we are headed to a very ugly scenario..
