The request put the FEC in the rare role of deciding a large constitutional issue that has only a few intersections with campaign finance law.

We certainly know they did not pursue this role in the last election!

We have a rogue government arrogantly and defiantly operating outside the constraints of the Constitution.

They are no longer even trying to be subtle about it.

“The request put the FEC in the rare role of deciding a large constitutional issue”

I assert that they have NO role in deciding constitutional issues.

The guy is a naturalIZED citizen, he is not eligible. How hard is that to know?

Anything to legitimize the illegal Kenyon in the White House. They are going for a double. Legitimacy for the infiltrator and another pipeline to use tax dollars for it’s campaign against America.

The agency released two draft advisory opinions...

Did they mispell “NO” on them?

I understand that the more “decisions” that are made which can be used to legitimize the usurper, the better for him.

When can we start arresting these people and putting them in chains???? How can they even consider such a request seriously? They do NOT have that authority. Do they?

Even the FEC is caving in to the 0bamunists. Not surprising. Just more gutless sycophants without the intestinal fortitude to stand on principle and preserve this grand experiment.

Getting closer to the ultimate reset.

If you read the article, it is exactly as I said in a previous post:

The agency quickly signaled that it would decide the technicalities of filing requirements while leaving the broader issue of who can run for president to the judicial branch. In an email to Hassan on July 18, the FEC stated that he understood “that although the Commission can respond to the questions asked in [his] advisory opinion, the Commission cannot make any determination as to whether [Hassan] can, as a naturalized citizen, serve as President.”

Run, raise money, do whatever, dude. But you probably cannot serve.

Bottom line -- no need to get worked up. There's plenty of real stuff to worry about. This ain't one.

If a person is born of citizen parents outside of the United States, they are still a citizen at birth. Just like John McCain was born in Panama and is eligible or like Vice-President Charles Curtis was born in the Kansas Territory and was eligible to be President.

I don’t know if Hasan’s parents were citizens or not, but if so, he is eligible since he was a citizen at birth and was not naturalized.

Constitutional requirements to run for president are that the candidate be 35 years or older and be a “natural born citizen.”

Wonder what part of that the FEC don’t understand?.

I think this could work in our favor. If this person is allowed to file to run as POTUS, then this will be challenged in court. I think the courts will give this one more attention than B0s and we may finally get a ruling from the SCOTUS.

The Original Natural-Born Eligibility Controversy concerned the 1968 GOP primary campaign for President of George Romney, father of Mitt Romney. George Romney was born in Mexico of American citizen parents who were residents of Mexico. It caused quite a fuss at the time.

All the FEC does is regulate campaign finance. It does not vet candidate, approve candidates, or rule candidates are eligible or ineligible. So basically what they are saying is that if this guy wants to launch a campaign committee, and he doesn’t violate any laws on donations, then he’s free to do so.
