I think it was McCain’s chance to feel like a cabinet member in preparation for feeling like a president. Also needed the exposure as a person of substance who could summon all the top names, if even for a senseless meeting. Yup. Any excuse at all for a meeting of the top repubs just to remind the public that he is in fact a republican of substance and high standing. Notice how he even out-paced obammy to get out in front for the photo op. Not nice, Juan, to upstage the prez. Where’s yer sense of protocol?
By the way South 40, you know Palin backs a path to citizenship and you don’t even need to be a veteran. It’s inhumane to deport em all back she says. That’s a retort to your tag line
Altogether now, a one, anna two, anna three . . .
If you remember, McCain's campaign was all but dead. The MSM re-invigorated it so obammy could run against the old white guy. McCain almost screwed them inadvertently, though, by bringing in Sarah. That's why they went so hard after her. I really dislike McCain and, of course, the MSM.
I keop hearing that. What are his traitor creds? Or is this just a reference to something new or since he entered politics?
Yes, and I remember watching later on TV as G.W. Bush came out onto the walk at the White House to announce that he was “throwing away his free market principles to save the free market.” He looked like a little whipped puppy.
Something very strange and very secret went on with this financial meltdown. In all the years of his term, Bush acted as if he was his own man and not intimidated by anyone or afraid of anything.
Strange.....very strange.
Post 37.5 and a cool home page. I’m impressed.
If only McCain had fought in the general like he fought in the primary there might have been a contest. As it was he spent more time bashing his own running mate than finding fault in his opponent.
Lord how I wish he was in better health! America needs a good skeet man to down the flying scum in Washington.
My very favorite picture of Vice-President Cheny, who I consider a true patriot, and a man I pray my grandsons will emulate.
But, I doubt they will, because their mother is bringing them up to be ‘burb kids”. I am not knocking her, she is very nice and a good mother, but thinks the world is at the upscale mall and the tennis court.
Alas.
oops, so sorry Vice President Cheney, for misspelling your name!
(Excerpt from the link below)
Yet the Fed was strangely passive and compliant when it came to demanding cooperation and sacrifice from the largest financial institutions. Timothy Geithner was then president of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, the lead regulator of Wall Streets largest banks. He briefly insisted they must accept the burden of rescuing AIG. But the bankers called his bluff and blew him offand Geithner deferred to their wishes. The taxpayer bailout followed. The episode is relevant to the future, because Geithner is now Obamas Treasury Secretary and in charge of preventing the next taxpayer bailout.

Michael Savage made a comment once that McCain had been ‘conditioned’ while in captivity to respond to authority. A Pavlov response in essence. With someone in captivity that long, could brainwashing be a possibility? I wonder sometimes. He sure does not help the cause and does attack the conservative position frequently.
