We have all said a prayer for those in the path of this storm. Many of us did it days ago! I don’t think we should let our opinions of the whole hype and coming political grandstanding for more tax payer money be ‘put up’ at all though!

Only a liberal would try to shut everyone up by claiming there are ‘victims’ and we should just stop talking! Good grief..of course it is sad that there are victims of this storm system, but let’s put it in perspective for cryin out loud! A few of them were killed in car wrecks and one was likely drunk. We sometimes lose that many people in Texas everytime there is a bad thunderstorm system that moves through the state and we have been suffering terrible electrical disruptions on millions of people all summer.

We need to get ready, because Obama and the democrats are going to try and use this run of the mill tropical storm to ram more ‘stimulus’ type spending down our throats because they didn’t budget enough money for FEMA disaster relief. They SPENT IT ALL ON NONSENSE AND CRONIES and now we are just entering the hurricane season with no money in the coffers (or so they say)!

Obama and his entire executive branch SHOULD be ridiculed and brought up for congressional hearings about all of the damn money that has just gone missing since he took office!

(end rant)

Who is trying to shut people up and who is saying there are “victims”. We all know the media and The White House are one and the same, but, again, you have unprecedented flooding, mudslides, dams collapsing, billions in damages. Surely you could let the floods subside a little before you start ripping everybody up.

Here’s my question.

Homeowners should be insured from windstorm (hurricane or tornado), fires, floods, etc....right? Granted, politicians have driven many private insurers out of business due to regulation and have forced property owners into state pools which makes no sense whatsoever, but still...

Business owners, ditto.

Municipalities, counties and states should be insured or self-insured.

Clean up is usually done by the individuals affected, hired by them or their insurer, or these people are on the payroll anyway (city crews, for example).

WHY THE HELL ARE WE RELYING ON THE FEDS FOR “DISASTER RELIEF” ANYWAY????????

Thanks...and for the record, I have been praying for everyone in its path since we knew it was going to bypass our neck of the woods.

Like I say, I know the power these storms can bring. What irritates me most is the hype brought on by Hussein sycophants....I get no pleasure from the folks who are going through power outages, etc. But a power outage is not a major disaster. Neither are downed trees. Flooding? Yes, it is a problem, but trying to make Irene into something it is not is ridiculous.
