Exactly. NO comparison.

Which is why this little PR game won't go anywhere. Even if the American people are stupid enough to blame Bush for Katrina (some are), they are at least smart enough to remember that Katrina was a horrible, horrible natural disaster and Irene is just big and wet.

(And it might be nice to point out to anyone who never realized it that Mississippi got the worst of it and recovered better because they DID have a competant Governor).

That’s right. A few months after Katrina, my husband and I traveled to Houston from Atlanta and spent the night in New Orleans on our way back (in fact, I heard Nagin make his “chocolate city” comment live on TV in our hotel room). We drove up I-59 through Mississippi and we had driven along the coast on the way to Houston, and we couldn’t believe the devastation. Yet, we heard nary a peep from that state (which was/is led by a REPUBLICAN governor); they simply rebuilt.
