This tactic was announced a couple of weeks ago by husseins thugs and is the only play they have since the WON certainly can’t run on any accomplishments.

If the opposition runs a weak candidate against you, that means that stronger opposing candidates decided not to waste their resources in a futile attempt at beating you. Perhaps, but you're positing a reason for Perry's consistently weak opposition that is purely speculative.
I stated a known fact, and observed that he's about to be tested against solid conservatives for the first time in his political career. We'll see how he fares.
