Bloomberg is insane. He’s shut down the subway and buses (today!).

I’m reminded of the Y2k nonsense.

I am directing every NYer to hereby not urinate until we, here at my command post, deem is safe for everyone to urinate. The city can ill afford the 2 million gallons per day it takes to flush NY city's toilets, and you will be breaking the law if you do not comply. Again, no urination. We will inform the citizenry when it is safe to do so.

This storm isn’t near what it looked to be. It reached landfall early and will be a TS up the coast. NYC needs to back off the hype now. My main concern for the coast was fallen trees.

Gov. Cuomo yesterday said Obama had approved his request for an emergency declaration for New York that will allow federal assistance to flow into the state.

Now we provide money for something that might happen, before it happens.

I really wonder how our forefathers survived these storms, without today's modern forecasting and politicians taking care of us. It is so absurd to shut down public transportation and electricity and order people to leave their houses. How can you leave if you don't have a car and all public transportation is shut down. It really is scary to consider that this is what they want for all of us. Dependence on public transportation that the government can shut down for any reason. I am more scared of out of control government than I have ever been of a storm.

Yo, Abe, pick up the phone and call family and friends. You leave the exact same way as you got there, only reverse the process. As if he never leaves his apartment for groceries, the bank or for his doctor appointments. Come on, already. He reminds me of the woman on the bridge in NO who complained the water bottle they gave her wasn’t cold enough.

I’m tempted to mine some of the posts by Yankees about Katrina and throw them back in their faces.

Exactly.

First that windbag Chris Christie telling people to get off the $@&*$&*)@#% beach, then his little Mini-Me across the River calling press conferences while he rocks back and forth on his midget feet, and then the Gay Dwarf Fuhrer from the HeimatSicherheitAbteilung calling press conferences.

Its a Hurricane. We get them. We should know the routine by now.

Late Friday afternoon, PEPCO (Potomac Electric) robo-called all its subscribers to warn them that power could be out for a day or more and they should make preparations. A bit late in the day considering the stores were picked clean of batteries.

I work in NYC. For the past two days, I have listened to other New Yorkers say things such as:

‘There is a hurricane coming this weekend? I didn’t know.’

‘What am i going to do when the subway shuts down?’

‘I live in an A zone. What am i supposed to do?’

‘Where can I buy a flashlight and batteries?’

‘I didn’t have time to go food shopping. The stores will be open on saturday.’

When the real sh!t hits the fan, these people are doomed.

What a sad state. I grew up in the Bronx during the 1950s when we had several hurricanes come through the NYC area. Life continued on. The public transit system continued to function for the most part with buses and subways running except in low lying flooded areas.

Now, we live in a day and age when politicians treat every little challenge to life as a major catastrophe. Bloomberg is a total incompetent nanny state hack politician. Plus, the MSM loves this stuff. All they do is hype it for their own left wing purposes.
