Ready or not here she comes.
New Yorkers are scrambling for last minute provisions today as Hurricane Irene draws closer to the city. The forceful storm a Category 1 with ferocious 85 mph winds is expected to wallop the city by 4 a.m. tomorrow.

"How can I get out of Coney Island?" said Abe Feinstein, 82, from an apartment with view of the boardwalk. "What am I going to do? Run with this walker?"

We're getting scammed again...Obama is paying off Bloomberg.
Stupidity has its own price.
But look at the good side - think of how many jobs this will created - replacing the wiring, copper pipes, patching the sheetrock, etc.
That's what is worrying some students!
Imagine, you pay a lot of money to go to this school. You have pay in advance for your dorm room.
Once you have free loaders squatting in them, I doubt it will be easy to make them leave. But, they are going to have to do it. I guess they could announce on the PA system:
"Attention everyone! There is FREE pizza in the parking lot!"
Once everyone stampedes out of the dorms, then bar them, fumigate the place, and call the cops when the riots start in the parking lot.
I am being facetious, but not really. Know what I mean?
And I suppose that most of them shop every other day for a very small amount of food to tie them over until they go out again.
The few New Yorkers that I knew back in the 70’s told me that they usually shopped on their way home from work or just grabbed a bite on the way home from a cart or a local restaurant.
Heck one guy I knew hadn’t cooked in years. All he had at his apartment was cold cereal and Milk. Of course I have to admit that was before Microwave Ovens were common.
Oh lord, I just dated myself didn’t I?
Then how hard is it going to be to get them out once the emergency has passed?Give them all free Ipads and hand them out at the liquor store.
Well bicycle delivery of Chinese food is always an option.
Government servicing all our needs wants and desires
I’m tempted to mine some of the posts by Yankees about Katrina and throw them back in their faces.
Exactly.
First that windbag Chris Christie telling people to get off the $@&*$&*)@#% beach, then his little Mini-Me across the River calling press conferences while he rocks back and forth on his midget feet, and then the Gay Dwarf Fuhrer from the HeimatSicherheitAbteilung calling press conferences.
Its a Hurricane. We get them. We should know the routine by now.
“How can I get out of Coney Island?”
Hey Abe! How do I get to Carnegie Hall?
But the northeast is full of liberals whose common sense runs about that of a 4 year old.
Sometimes you have to treat children like children.
Keeerect! A storm will blow over...corrupt out of control government....never!
Late Friday afternoon, PEPCO (Potomac Electric) robo-called all its subscribers to warn them that power could be out for a day or more and they should make preparations. A bit late in the day considering the stores were picked clean of batteries.
Guess that post should have been HeimatlandSicherheitAbteilung for the little Gay Dwarf Fuhrer’s Department.
Well, we elected him, but the alternative was unthinkable. On the other hand, I voted for the conservative in the GOP primary. Because Christie had more bucks, he won.
Sad but that’s the lay of the land.
I work in NYC. For the past two days, I have listened to other New Yorkers say things such as:
‘There is a hurricane coming this weekend? I didn’t know.’
‘What am i going to do when the subway shuts down?’
‘I live in an A zone. What am i supposed to do?’
‘Where can I buy a flashlight and batteries?’
‘I didn’t have time to go food shopping. The stores will be open on saturday.’
When the real sh!t hits the fan, these people are doomed.
Obama then claims economy picked (rush to buy sump pumps, batteries, generators, tarps, food/gas, hotel stays) up but bad luck brought it down again. Manipulation.
