I respectfully disagree.
The idea that they can "suspend" a right that is clearly stated in the U.S. Constitution IS the problem. They are conditioning us to believe that our rights are granted at the whim of government officials.
I'd love to see the wailing and gnashing of teeth if they suspended a "right" that is not clearly stated in the Constitution... like the "right to an abortion". LOL
Precisely. If only the talking heads on TeeVee were told the 1st Amendment would also be suspended on the anticipation of an incoming hurricane. Public officials have no prerogative to remove Constitutional inalienable rights because they happen to think it serves some "public good" during an incoming storm.
They can, however, take a flying leap.
