I’m in northern New Jersey (Summit area), and my sense is that the dangers related to wind and high surf are probably a bit exaggerated (storm is more likely to track to the east, and will probably not even be a hurricane by the time it reaches here) . . . but the 5-10 inches of rain is a very serious concern all over this area. We’ve had a lot of rain in recent days, and inland river/stream flooding is the biggest threat here.

Yup. One of the small cities near where I live often has flooding with 3-4 inches of rain. The head of the road crew was quoted as saying “If we get 10-12” of rain, it would be the worst flood since 1955”.

The Yantic river in Norwich, if anyone knows the area.
